Lincoln County Crash Leaves Two Dead and Two Moderately Injured

A Lincoln County collision on Sunday proved fatal for two Lincoln residents and moderately injured two Warren County residents.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011 Victor Harrell, 81, of Moscow Mills, MO was operating a 2011 Husqvarna utility vehicle traveling westbound on Brevator Road approximately .5 miles east of Gravens Road. At the same time and place, 16 year old Zacheriah Cain of Warrenton, MO was also traveling westbound on Brevator Road operating a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire.

The front of Cain's vehicle then struck the rear of the vehicle Harrell was operating. The collision caused Harrell's vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and strike tree.

Victor Harrell, driver, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lincoln County coroner, Robert Shramek. His passenger, Virginia Harrell, 82, also of Moscow Mills, MO, was later pronounced dead at the Lincoln County Medical Center. Zacheriah Cain, the at-fault driver, and his passenger 17 year old Jonathan Cain of Warrenton MO, suffered moderate injuries and were taken by Lincoln County EMS to St. Josephs West in Lake St. Louis, MO.

Both vehicles involved in the crash were totaled and towed from the scene by Brian's towing service. The only person involved in the crash that was wearing a safety device was Victoria Harrell, the passenger of Victor Harrell. These fatalities brought the fatality total for troop C to 10 for the month and 38 for 2011. The crash was investigated by Trooper M. Cook and was assisted by Corporal T. Potter and crash team two member Sergeant A. Mallery.

St. Louis Man Killed in Head-on Collision on I-55

St. Louis county crash leads to fatality for one man and serious injuries for another.

On May 14, 2011 at approximately 11:50 p.m., 51 year old John Casalone of St. Louis was operating a 2000 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on I-55, about 100 feet north of Union Road. At that said time and place, 46 year old Hai Pham also of St. Louis was the operator of a 2006 Toyota Sienna traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-55.

Pham's vehicle was partially in lanes one and two of northbound I-55. Due to Pham traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-55, he struck the vehicle of John Casalone head on.

John Casalone was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Brian Torno with Mehlville Fire Department at 11:59 p.m.; next of kin was notified. Casalone was transported to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office by the St. Louis medical examiner. The at-fault driver, Hai Pham was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by Lemay Ambulance with serious injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the crash received total damage and were towed from the scene of the crash by Squires Towing. The two drivers involved in this crash were not wearing their safety devices. This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper B. Hall of Troop C.

Jefferson County Crash Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

Barnhart, Missouri woman receives serious injuries after another vehicle makes a sudden lane change.

On May 10, 2011 at approximately 5:08 p.m., 53 year old Violet Clark of Barnhart, Missouri was operating a 2002 Lexus ES300 traveling southbound on Interstate 55; about 1.5 miles south of Richardson Road. At this same time and place, 31 year old Charles Hilke of Festus, Missouri was the operator of a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire also traveling southbound on Interstate 55.

At the above said time, Hilke made a sudden lane change to the right, directly behind Clark's vehicle. The front of Hilke's vehicle struck the rear of Clark's vehicle. Due to the impact, Violet Clark's vehicle was forced off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Violet Clark was taken from the scene of the crash to St. Anthony's Medical Center by Rock Township Ambulance with moderate injuries. Charles Hilke, the at-fault driver, received no injuries and was able to leave the scene unharmed. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Clark's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Timco Towing. The at-fault vehicle received only moderate damage but was also towed from the scene of the crash by Timco Towing. The injured individual, Clark, was wearing her safety device; however the at-fault driver, Hilke, was not.

Christian County, Missouri Crash Leaves Three Seriously Injured

A head on crash in Christian county leads to serious injury for three Missouri residents.

On May 4, 2011 at approximately 10:00 am, 70 year old Donald Walker of Chadwick, Missouri, was operating a 1986 Cadillac traveling northbound on MO 125 about two miles south of Sparta. Walker's vehicle was occupied by himself and one passenger, 66 year old Janice Walker also of Chadwick, Missouri.

At the above said time and place, 26 year old Lacey Powell of Sparta, Missouri, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling southbound on MO 125. Immediately before meeting the Walker vehicle, Powell crossed over the center line and struck the Walker vehicle head on.

Both Donald and Janice Walker were transported from the scene of the crash by helicopter to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with serious injuries. The at-fault driver, Lacey Powell, was transported by helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri also with serious injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the crash received total damage. The Walker vehicle was towed from the scene of the crash by Bilyeau Wrecker of Ozark. Powell's vehicle was towed from the scene of the crash by Blue Monkey Wrecker of Sparta. All individuals involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.
