Jefferson City Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Struck by Vehicle

Jefferson City resident is sent to the hospital with injuries after being struck by a truck as she attempted to cross a roadway.

On June 22, 2011 at approximately 11:45 a.m., 22 year old Serenity Crump was attempting to walk across Missouri Boulevard in front of a K-Mart in Jefferson City, Missouri. At that said time and place, 20 year old Abby Luetkemeyer of Jefferson City, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet truck attempting to turn left out of the K-Mart parking lot. Luetkemeyer then drove her vehicle into the center lane in an attempt to merge into the eastbound lanes of Missouri Boulevard. Luetkemeyer then struck Crump as she was attempting to walk across Missouri Boulevard.

Sereneity Crump sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to an Emergency Room at a local hospital for treatment. The at-fault driver, Abby Luetkemeyer, sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Luetkemeyer was carrying five passengers ranging from age 7 to 30. Police say that Luetkemeyer was using the center lane of Missouri Boulevard incorrectly when she struck Crump, the pedestrian. Further details of the collision are unknown at this time.

Iron County Crash Leads to Serious Injury for Two Missouri Residents

Belleview, Missouri couple was seriously injured after being struck head on by another vehicle.

On June 20, 2011 at approximately 5:42 pm, 52 year old Patricia Glaskey of Belleview, Missouri was operating a 2010 Toyota Camry, traveling southbound on Highway 21 in Pilot Knob. Patricia Glaskey's vehicle was occupied by herself and passenger, 58 year old David Glaskey also of Belleview, Missouri. At the above said time and place, 20 year old Brandi Dillon of Farmington, Missouri was operating a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor traveling northbound on Highway 21. Brandi Dillon's vehicle was occupied by herself and passenger, 21 year old Monica Dickerson of Park Hills, Missouri.

Brandi Dillon, the northbound driver, then crossed over the center line and struck the Glaskey vehicle head on. Debris from the crash struck a third vehicle, a 2003 Jeep Cherokee driven by 50 year old Linda Farmer of Ironton, Missouri. Farmer was not injured in the crash.

Patricia and David Glaskey were transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance and taken to Parkland Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri with moderate injuries. Monica Dickerson, the passenger of the at-fault driver, was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Iron County Hospital with minor injuries. Dickerson and the at-fault driver Brandi Dillon were not wearing their safety devices. All other parties involved in the crash were wearing their safety devices.

The Glaskey vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Adams Custom Auto. The vehicle of the at-fault driver also received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Adams Custom Auto. The third vehicle, driven by Linda Farmer, received only minor damage from the debris impact and was driven from the scene of the crash. This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A F Cheaney.

Four Car Crash in Boone County Leaves Six Injured

Boone County collision involving a tractor trailer and three other vehicles occurred on Northbound Highway 63 near Columbia, Missouri.

On June 1, 2011 at approximately 4:05 p.m., 61 year old Pearl Anderson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas was operating a 2009 Freightliner traveling northbound on Highway 63 approximately .7 miles south of route AB in Boone County (vehicle one). At the same time and place, 30 year old Amber splitter, of Columbia, Mo, was operating a 1997 Mercury also traveling northbound (vehicle two). Also traveling northbound at the above stated time and place 62 year old Janice Palmer, of Columbia, MO, was operating a 2000 Buick (vehicle three). Vehicle four, also traveling northbound on Highway 63, was a 2000 Chevrolet with 32 year old Marybell Garcia as the passenger.

Traffic was slowing due to an accident on northbound Highway 63 when Anderson, driver of vehicle one, swerved and struck the above referenced in its path. The trailer first struck vehicle four on the rear of the passengers side, trapping Garcia, and forcing the vehicle off the left side of Highway 63. The front of the tractor trailer then struck the rear of vehicle three that Janice Palmer was driving. The impact of the collision forced her vehicle off the left side of the highway trapping her inside. The final vehicle that Anderson collided with was vehicle two that Amber Splitter was driving. The front of the tractor trailer collided with the rear of Splitter's vehicle and forced it off the left side of the roadway. The tractor trailer continued in motion until it traveled off the left side of the road, lost its load of rebar and came to a stop in the median.

There were six injuries in the crash and all parties were taken to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri by ambulance. Pearl Anderson, the driver of the at fault vehicle, was wearing a safety device and suffered minor injuries. The driver of vehicle two, Amber Splitter, and her two occupants, Lylvester and Latavia Franklin, also suffered minor injuries. It is unknown whether Splitter and Lylvester Franklin were wearing their safety devices. The driver of vehicle two, Janice Palmer, suffered moderate injuries and was wearing a safety device. The tractor trailer received extensive damage and all the other vehicles received total damage and were towed from the scene of the accident by I-70 Towing.

Ballwin, Missouri Crash Leads to Resident's Death

Collision taking place in front of Ballwin car dealership caused serious injury to several and ultimately death for one man.

On May 4, 2011 at approximately 11:55 a.m., 77 year old Charles C. Clark was operating a 2001 Nissan Sentra traveling westbound in the 14700 block of Manchester Road. Clark's vehicle was occupied by himself and wife Betty Clark. At that said time and place, Anthony Floyd, a 48 year old of north St. Louis County was operating a 1992 Dodge Dakota traveling eastbound in the 14700 block of Manchester Road. Floyd then drove his vehicle across the eastbound lanes and into the westbound lanes of Manchester, striking the Clark vehicle.

Charles Clark was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Charles Clark's occupant, wife Betty, was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries and was released a few days later. The at-fault driver, Anthony Floyd, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle was parked nearby and was also damaged in the crash.

Charles Clark, an army veteran, was buried May 10 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Clark had been married for 53 years and was a proud member of the American Legion in Manchester, says his son-in-law Steve Filipek of St. Charles. Charles Clark was an avid traveler, loved boating and fishing and was a longtime church member.
