Cole County Head-on Crash Leads to Injury for Two

Missouri residents were taken to the hospital after being involved in a head-on crash in Cole County.

On October 30, 2011 at approximately 2:05 a.m., 24 year old Bryan Veltrop of Eugene, Missouri was operating a 1992 Chevrolet traveling southbound on Tanner Bridge Road, about 1.9 miles north of Wagner Lane. Veltrop was not traveling with any passengers.

At the above said time and place, 20 year old Cole Robinett of Henly, Missouri was operating a 2010 Jeep traveling northbound on Tanner Bridge Road. Robinett was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Tanner Bridge Road and struck Bryan Veltrop head on.

Bryan Veltrop was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries he received in the crash. Veltrop was not wearing his safety device at the time of the crash. The at-fault driver, Cole Robinett, was also transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital with minor injuries. It is unknown if Robinett was wearing his safety device at the time of the crash.

Veltrop's vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Broadway Wrecker in Jefferson City, Missouri. The at-fault vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Tow Pro in Holts Summit, Missouri. Neither driver possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. North of Troop F.

Missouri Driver Is Struck by another Vehicle after Experiencing Mechanical Difficulties

Jefferson County crash ends in serious injury for Missouri woman after she is struck from behind while attempting to exit the roadway.

On October 27, 2011 at approximately 6:47 p.m., 28 year old Megan Markley of Crystal City, Missouri was operating a 2001 Honda CRV traveling southbound on I-55, about 50 feet south of Imperial Main. At that said time and place, 43 year old Thomas Dace was operating a 2000 Dodge Dakota also traveling southbound on I-55 directly behind Markley.

Megan Markley then experienced mechanical difficulties and attempted to pull to the shoulder from I-55. Dace failed to properly slow his vehicle to avoid Markley and struck the rear of her vehicle.

Megan Markely was transported from the scene of the crash to St. Anthony's Medical Center by Rock Township with serious injuries. The at-fault driver, Thomas Dace, was also transported from the scene of the crash to St. Anthony's Medical Center by Rock Township with minor injuries.

Both vehicles sustained total damage in the crash and were towed from the scene by Timco Towing. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash. Markely did possess insurance coverage for her vehicle at the time of the crash; however, it is unknown if the at-fault driver possessed insurance coverage.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M. Albright of Troop C.

Head-On Collision Results in Serious Injuries for Two Missouri Men

When one driver failed to negotiate a curve on wet pavement, he crashed into oncoming traffic in a head-on collision and was ejected from his vehicle. Both drivers suffered moderate to serious injuries and were transported to hospitals in Springfield, Missouri.

On October 26, 2011 at approximately 1:20pm, 33-year-old Christopher Carlson from Springfield, Missouri was operating a 2009 work box truck and heading southbound on Route NN two miles southeast of Springfield. At said time and place, Jonathan Ibbetson, age 36, from Ozark, Missouri was traveling northbound on Route NN in a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. Neither of the drivers had passengers at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred when Ibbetson failed to negotiate a curve on wet pavement. Ibbetson crossed the center line heading towards oncoming traffic. Ibbetson struck Carlson's vehicle in a head-on collision. Ibbetson was ejected from his vehicle. Ibbetson's vehicle then came to rest in a creek. Carlson did have his seatbelt on at the time of the crash, but Ibbetson did not.

Carlson suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Gills Intensive Care Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri by a private vehicle. Jonathan Ibbetson suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to St. John's Hospital of Springfield, Missouri by a private vehicle.

Carlson's truck received extensive damages and was towed from the scene of the crash by Henry's Wrecker Service of Springfield, Missouri. Ibbetson's Jeep Cherokee received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by All Night Recovery and Towing of Springfield, Missouri. Carlson had Liberty Mutual insurance at the time of the crash, and Ibbetson had Farm Bureau Insurance.

Three Vehicle Pile -up Occurs on Interstate 70

In St. Louis County, a three vehicle crash occurs as one driver lost control of her vehicle. Three were moderately injured as one didn't seek medical treatment.

On October 26, 2011 at approximately 7:44 p.m., Britny Boyd, age 24, and a resident of St. Louis was operating a 1991 Ford LX traveling in the eastbound direction on Interstate 70 at Lucas and Hunt. In the second vehicle, driver Gerardo Ortega, age 16, and occupant Tawnee Hopen, age 17, both from Warrenton, Missouri were operating a 2007 Cadillac Escalade traveling in the eastbound direction on Interstate 70. The third vehicle in this crash is Timothy Baker, age 22, and a resident of St. Charles, Missouri was operating a 2008 BMW traveling as well in the eastbound direction on Interstate 70.

At that said time and place, Britny was traveling eastbound on the entrance ramp from Lucas and Hunt as Gerardo and Timothy were traveling eastbound in the far left lane. Suddenly, Britny lost control of her vehicle which then caused it to spin counterclockwise twice into the left lane. The front of Gerardo's vehicle struck the front of Britny's Ford LX. Timothy attempted to avoid a collision with both vehicles by veering to the left of the roadway. The right side of Timothy's car struck the rear of Britny's vehicle causing him to be a part of the three-vehicle crash.

All participants of this crash except Gerardo received moderate injuries. Gerardo did not seek any medical treatment, but his occupant in the car with him, Tawnee was taken to DePaul Hospital by a private conveyance. Britny and Timothy were both taken to Barnes Hospital by the Northeast Ambulance District.

Britny was the only one who did not wear a safety device during the crash. The other three were reported to be wearing theirs.

Also, all the participants' vehicles sustained total damages and were towed by Hood's Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the assistance of trooper Z. Kral of Troop C.

Missouri Resident Pronounced Dead at Scene of Motorcycle Crash

A 25-year-old male died in a motorcycle crash as a result of cresting a hill and crashing into someone in the intersection of Route P in Polk County.

On October 22, 2011 at approximately 2:15pm, 25-year-old Anthony Hall from Louisburg, Missouri was traveling southbound on Route P four miles north of Halfway in a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle. At said time and place, Laura Henley, age 46, from Bolivar, Missouri was operating a 2012 Chevrolet and traveling southbound on Route P. Neither of the drivers had passengers at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred as Henley entered the intersection just as Hall was cresting a hill. Hall struck Henley's vehicle in the side. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Coroner Roy Harms. He was then transported to Pitts Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. The next of kin was notified. Henley suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene of the crash. Henley was also tested for alcohol.

Hall's Kawasaki received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Wakefield Auto and Towing of Bolivar, Missouri. Henley's 2012 Chevrolet received moderate damages and was towing by A and J Towing and Auto of Bolivar, Missouri. Hall did not have auto insurance at the time of the crash. Henley had Farmers Insurance at the time of the crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, there were 258 accidents for drivers over the age of 55, which resulted in a total of 292 fatalities, in 2009.

Ejection of Driver Results in Fatality Crash

In Jefferson County, one Barnhart resident is pronounced fatal as he was ejected from his vehicle and then struck by another vehicle.

On October 23, 2011 at approximately 1:53 p.m., Gary Forshee, age 64 and from Barnhart, Missouri was operating a 2006 Honda Shadow traveling in the eastbound direction of Missouri Route W. The other vehicle involved in this crash is Jennifer Cunningham, age 40 and from Eureka, Missouri and was operating a 2007 Ford Explorer traveling in the eastbound direction on Missouri Route W.

At that said time and place, Gary was traveling eastbound on Missouri Route W, about 20 feet east of Quarry Road. Gary failed to negotiate a curve to the right of the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. He then suddenly slid across the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway. At that moment, Gary was ejected from his vehicle and was struck by the vehicle of Jennifer Cunningham.

Gary Forshee was pronounced fatal at the scene of the crash by Eureka Fire Protection Paramedic, Matt Torno. He was wearing a safety device during the crash.

Jennifer Cunningham resulted in zero injuries due to this accident and did not seek medical attention. Gary Forshee was taken to St. Louis County Morgue by the Schaffer's Mortuary.

Gary Forshee's 2006 Honda Shadow received moderate damages and was towed privately. Jennifer's 2007 Ford Explorer received minor damages and was driven from the scene of the crash.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and assisted by trooper A. Michels of troop C.

Henry County Crash Ends in Fatality for Two Missouri Residents

Hume, Missouri residents are killed after being struck head on by another vehicle due to low visibility.

On October 21, 2011 at approximately 5:49 p.m., 59 year old Robert Moore of Hume, Missouri was operating a 2005 Dodge traveling westbound on MO 52, about .2 mile west of SW 701 Road. Moore's vehicle was occupied by himself and one passenger: 65 year old Dollie Moore also of Hume, Missouri.

At that time and place, 25 year old Victoria Dalbec of Deepwater, Missouri was operating a 2007 Mitsubishi traveling eastbound on MO 52. Dalbec's vehicle was occupied by herself and passenger: 1 year old child, Stanton Dalbec. Dalbec began to slow down due to low visibility and crossed the center line, striking the Moore vehicle head on. Dalbec's vehicle traveled off the roadway, through a fence and into a field. The Moore vehicle overturned onto its passenger side and came to a rest in the roadway.

Robert and Dollie Moore were both fatally injured in the crash. Dollie Moore was taken from the scene of the crash to Consalus Funeral Home. Robert Moore was taken to Vanzandt-Mills Funeral Home from the scene of the crash. The at-fault driver, Victoria Dalbec, and her son were taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital by private vehicle with minor injuries.

Both vehicles received total damage in the crash and were towed from the scene by Golden Valley Wrecker. Deceased driver, Robert Moore, was not wearing his safety device at the time of the crash; however, all other parties were. The at-fault driver did possess insurance coverage for her vehicle at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether the deceased party possessed insurance coverage for his vehicle.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. J.M. Toal of Troop A. Toal was assisted by Trooper R.C. West and Henry County Sheriff's Department. This was Troop A's 39th fatality accident on the year and was fatality numbers 40 and 41.

Head-on Collision Results in Serious Injuries

In Cass County, one vehicle attempts to avoid hitting a dog on the roadway which causes the driver to collide head-on with another vehicle.

On October 19, 2011 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Thomas Dusselier, age 46 and a resident of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 1995 Ford Dump Truck and traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri Route D, .02 miles north of 183rd Street. Traveling northbound is Walter Cunningham, age 55 and a resident of Paola, Kansas. Walter was operating a 2008 Chrysler and was traveling on Missouri Route D.

At that same time and place, Thomas was in the southbound direction on Route D when a dog was spotted in the roadway. Thomas attempted to avoid striking the dog by slamming on his brakes. As a result, Thomas lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the center lane and struck Walter's vehicle head-on.

Thomas reported to be uninjured and did not seek medical attention, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. On the other hand, Walter suffers from serious injuries due to this crash. He was transported by EMS to Research Main in Kansas City, Missouri where he would be treated for his medical condition.

Walter was found to be wearing a safety device during this auto-crash.

Thomas' 1995 Ford Dump Truck received moderate damages and was towed by Lazer Tow. Walter received total damages as the result of this crash and was towed by GT Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Trooper B. Dehaan of Troop A.

Semi-Truck Crash Results in Moderate Injuries for Two Missouri Drivers

When one driver crossed into the path of another, the driver crashes into two other vehicles and causes moderate injuries for himself and one other driver on Missouri 72 near Patton, Missouri.

On October 19, 2011 at approximately 3:20pm, 20-year-old William Brewer from Patton, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford and heading southbound on Missouri 72 at Missouri 51 in Patton. At that said time and place, Breanna McCall, age 29, from Sedgewickville, Missouri was heading eastbound on Missouri 72 in a 1992 Buick. Heading northbound on Missouri 72 at this time in a 1998 Peterbilt Semi-truck trailer was Robert Wilson, age 29, from Doniphan, Missouri. None of the drivers had passengers.

The crash occurred as Brewer crossed into the path of McCall. Brewer crashed into McCall and then crashed into a third vehicle, that of Robert Wilson's. It is unknown whether or not all drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

William Brewer suffered moderate injuries and was taken from the scene of the crash to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri by ambulance. Breanna McCall suffered moderate injuries and was also taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Brewer's Ford received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by HJR Enterprises Towing of Marble Hill, Missouri. McCall's Buick received total damage and was moved from the scene of the crash by the owner. Wilson's Semi-truck trailer received minor damages and was driven from the scene of the crash. All drivers had insurance at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Corporal P C Hazelwood.

Vehicle in Previous Accident is Struck Again

In Jefferson County, an accident involving one man was struck again by another vehicle when the driver failed to stop ahead for the previous accident.

On October 15,2011 at approximately 9:11 p.m., Timothy Maenner, age 34 and a resident of Imperial, Missouri was operating a 2001 Buick Lesabre traveling in the westbound direction on Missouri Route MM only .02 miles east of Missouri Route 30. In the second vehicle, Thomas Lewis, age 50 and a resident of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM and also traveling in the westbound direction. Upon this accident, Timothy was already currently in an accident and his vehicle was stopped to wait for the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate.

At that said time and place, Thomas Lewis was traveling westbound on Missouri Route MM. Thomas failed to stop for the accident ahead that involved Timothy, and the front of Thomas' vehicle struck the rear of Timothy's. Before the accident had occurred, 47 year old Derrick Voisey from Lemay, Missouri exited another vehicle to check on Timothy in reference to his previous accident. Upon the impact of both Thomas and Timothy's crash, the door of Timothy's vehicle closed which caused Derrick to become injured.

As the results of this crash, Timothy received serious injuries and was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by the Big River Ambulance. Pedestrian, Derrick Voisey, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to St. Clare Health Center by the Big River Ambulance. The at-fault driver, Thomas Lewis, received moderate injuries as well and was also taken by the Big River ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center where all occupants in this auto-crash received medical attention.

During this crash, Thomas Lewis was wearing a safety device while Timothy was not wearing one.

Both Timothy and Thomas' vehicles received total damages from this crash and were towed by Northwest Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Trooper G. Groneymeyer #360 in Troop C.

Three Car Wreck Results in Two Teenage Fatalities and Injuries for Three Other Missouri Residents

In Dent County on Highway 32, a rear-end collision resulted in a head-on collision, two teenage fatalities and serious injuries for three other persons involved.

On October 17, 2011 at approximately 3:20pm, 17-year-old Mackenzie Miller from Salem, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and heading eastbound on Highway 32 three miles east of Salem. At the same time and place, 16-year-old Bailey Stephens from Salem, Missouri was also heading eastbound on Highway 32 in a 1997 Toyota Corolla. Also at this time, Donna Nunley, age 35, from Bunker, Missouri was heading westbound on Highway 32 in a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. Miller had one passenger - Adam Miller, age 14, from Salem, Missouri. Donna had two passengers - Fredrick Nunley, age 34, from Bunker, Missouri and Shayna Nunley, age 14, from Bunker, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Miller struck the rear of Stephens and then crossed the center line and was struck by the oncoming vehicle of Nunley. Mackenzie Miller and Adam Miller were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by paramedics. They were taken by coroner, Gina White, to Wilson Mortuary in Salem, Missouri. Fredrick Nunley suffered minor injuries and was taken to Salem Hospital by the Salem Ambulance from the scene of the crash. Donna Nunley suffered moderate injuries and was taken from the scene of the crash to the Salem Hospital by the Salem Ambulance. Shayna Nunley suffered serious injuries and was taken from the scene of the crash to Salem Hospital by the Salem Ambulance and then life-flighted from Salem Hospital to St. Louis Children's Hospital. All drivers and occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Miller's 2007 Cobalt received total damage and was towed by Whitaker Towing from Salem, Missouri. Stephens' Corolla received moderate damages and was driven from the scene of the crash. Nunley's Lumina received total damage and was towed by Whitaker Towing from Salem, Missouri. All drivers had auto insurance at the time of the crash.

This investigation was led by Trooper Jeffrey Leathers and assisted by Corporal K. Wilmont, Trooper G. Moravec, the Dent County Sherriff's Department and the Salem Police Department.

Missouri Mother and Infant Injured in Pulaski County Crash

Waynesville, Missouri woman and her infant child are rushed to the hospital with injuries after being struck by another vehicle.

On October 16, 2011 at approximately 3:15 p.m., 21 year old Shaina Updike of Waynesville, Missouri was operating a 2009 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on I-44 at the 158 mile marker. Updike had one passenger, Josiah Updike, her infant son.

At that said time and place, 18 year old Grace Halverson of Florissant, Missouri was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, also traveling westbound on I-44. Halverson then changed lanes and struck the Updike vehicle. Both vehicles ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road, struck a rock embankment, and then ran off the right side of the road again coming to a rest.

Driver Shaina Updike was transported from the scene of the crash to Fort Wood Hospital with moderate injuries. Updike's infant son was also transported to Fort Wood Hosptial for treatment of minor injuries he sustained in the crash. The at-fault driver, Grace Halverson, was transported from the scene of the crash to Phelps County Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. The Updikes were both wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash; however, the at-fault driver was not.

Both vehicles sustained total damage in the crash and were towed from the scene by Jacks Towing. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Aimee Fulkerson of Troop I and was assisted by Sgt. Cody Fulkerson, Cve. Reid and the St. Robert Police Department.

St. Louis Area Resident is Injured After Being Struck by Tractor Trailer

St. Louis County crash results in injury for Ballwin, Missouri woman after a tractor trailer fails to slow and strikes her vehicle in the rear.

On October 13, 2011 at approximately 6:15 p.m., 20 year old Torri Stiefferman of St. Peters, Missouri was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo traveling southbound on I-270, about .1 mile north of I-55. Courtney Monroe, 29 year old of Ballwin, Missouri was traveling on southbound I-270 directly behind Stiefferman.

At that said time and place, 58 year old Edward Long of Clearwater, Florida was operating a 2006 Freightliner tractor trailer traveling on southbound I-270 behind Stiefferman and Monroe. Stiefferman and Monroe were stopped for traffic in lane three. Long failed to slow in time and the front of his tractor trailer struck the rear of Monroe, forcing her vehicle into the rear of Stiefferman.

Courtney Monroe was taken from the scene of the crash to St. Anthony's Hospital by Mehlville Ambulance with moderate injuries. Torri Stiefferman was uninjured in the crash. The at-fault driver, Edward Long, was also uninjured in the crash. All drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

Monroe's vehicle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Miners towing. Stiefferman's vehicle received extensive damage and was also towed from the scene of the crash by Miners towing. Long's tractor trailer received moderate damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by private conveyance.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A. Ashby.

Three Missouri Residents Suffer Moderate Injuries from a Head-On Collision

Two drivers and one passenger suffer moderate injuries when the at-fault driver lost control on a curve and caused a head-on collision on Highway U in Pettis County.

On October 12, 2011 at approximately 7:45pm, 25-year-old, Diana Hamby from Sedalia, Missouri was operating a 1997 Mercury and heading northbound on Highway U or Anderson School Road. At the said time and place Stanley Hazelrigg, age 80, from Cole Camp, Missouri was heading southbound on Highway U in a 2006 Lincoln. Stanley had one passenger, Sharon Curtis, age 69, also from Cole Camp, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Hamby lost control on a curve and crossed over the center line. She crashed into Hazelrigg in a head-on collision, and Hazelrigg went off the right side of the road and then came to rest on its wheels in a ditch. Hamby's vehicle continued to spin counterclockwise and then came to rest in the roadway. Hamby was not wearing her seatbelt. Hazelrigg and his passenger were wearing their seatbelts.

Hamby suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri by APSI Ambulance. Hazelrigg and Curtis also suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Bothwell Regional Health Center by APSI Ambulance.

Hazelrigg's vehicle received total damage and was towed by State Fair Towing from Sedalia, Missouri. Hamby's vehicle also received total damage and was towed by Don's Truck Towing from Carterville, Missouri. Both drivers had insurance at the time of the crash.

St. Charles County Crash Ends in Fatality for Missouri Woman

Troy, Missouri resident is fatally wounded after her vehicle was struck from behind by a Mack dump truck.

On October 11, 2011 at approximately 1:04 p.m., 48 year old Lori Brewer of Troy, Missouri was operating a 2006 Jeep Wrangler traveling in the right lane of northbound US 61, about .5 miles north of Route A. At that said time and place, 47 year old Darryl Berhorst of Canton, Missouri was operating a 2006 Mack TH-13 dump truck, traveling northbound in the left lane of US 61.

At that said time and place, Brewer changed lanes in front of Berhorst. Brewer then applied her breaks. Berhorst failed to slow and his truck struck Brewer in the rear. Brewer's vehicle then traveled into the median, struck a culvert and overturned several times.

Lori Brewer was transported from the scene of the crash by Arch Helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur where she later died. Dump truck driver, Darryl Berhorst, was uninjured in the crash. Brewer's vehicle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by I-70 Towing. Berhorst's dump truck received only minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash.

It is unknown whether the decedent was wearing her safety device at the time of the crash. The decedent did not possess vehicular insurance coverage at the time of the crash. Berhorst, driver of the dump truck, was covered by insurance at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper K. Brown of Troop C.

Head-On Collision Results in Serious Injuries in Pemiscot County

When two drivers served to the outside of their lane in order to avoid hitting each other, they swerved back to the center line and a head-on crash resulted in Pemiscot County of Missouri. The two drivers suffered moderate to serious injuries.

On October 10, 2011 at approximately 12:30pm, 53-year-old, Cathy Goodale, from Caruthersville, Missouri was heading southbound in a 2000 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Highway T 1/2 of a mile south of Portageville. At the same time and place, 47-year-old, James Stone, from Hayti, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford Escape and heading northbound on Highway T.

The crash occurred when Stone crossed into Goodale's lane. Goodale swerved to the left to avoid striking Stone while Stone swerved to the right to avoid crashing into Goodale. Both vehicles swerved back towards the center line, and a head-on crash resulted. Neither of the drivers had passengers at this time. Goodale was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, but Stone was.

The at-fault driver, Stone, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Missouri by ambulance. Goodale suffered serious injuries and was life-flighted from the scene of the crash to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri by Air Evac.

Goodale's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Johnson's 66 Station & Wrecker Service of Portageville, Missouri. Goodale was insured by Cornerstone National Insurance. Stone's vehicle also received total damage and was towed by Johnson's 66 Station &Wrecker Service of Portageville, Missouri. Stone was insured by Progressive Insurance.

Columbia Residents Injured in Rear-End Crash in Boone County

Two elderly Missouri men were injured in a two car rear end crash occurring in Columbia, Missouri.

On October 9, 2011 at approximately 4:15 p.m., 70 year old Anthony Bartal of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2005 Buick traveling westbound on Rt WW at Rolling Hills Road. Bartal's vehicle was occupied by himself and passenger, 78 year old Robert Boxley also of Columbia, Missouri.

At that time and place, 23 year old Krista Hedrick of Imperial, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford also traveling westbound on Rt WW, directly behind in Bartal vehicle. Hedrick failed to slow for the Bartal vehicle traveling directly in front of her and struck Bartal in the rear.

Driver Anthony Bartal was taken by ambulance from the scene of the crash to Boone Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries. Bartal's passenger, Robert Boxley, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries he received in the crash. The at-fault driver, Krista Hedrick, was uninjured in the crash.

All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles. The Bartal and Hedrick vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash and were towed from the scene by Carl's Towing.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A. Helfrecht of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper G. Gundy.

Platte County Crash Leads to Injury for Two Missouri Residents

Missouri I-29 crash involving three vehicles, including a bus, leaves two St. Joseph, Missouri residents injured.

On October 6, 2011 at approximately 7:50 a.m., 59 year old Jerry Williams of St. Joseph, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford traveling southbound on I-29, south of MO 92. At that said time and place, 26 year old Aaron Bublit and his passenger, 58 year old Kathy Bublit, were also traveling southbound on I-29.

At that same time and place, 57 year old Kevin Groves of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2000 International bus on southbound I-29 alongside the above listed drivers. Groves then travelled into the path of Williams. Williams then swerved into the path of the Bublit vehicle in attempts to avoid Groves' bus, forcing the Bublit vehicle off the left side of the roadway. Williams then struck Groves' bus, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The Bublit vehicle travelled back onto the roadway, struck Groves' bus twice, and came to a rest.

Jerry Williams was taken from the scene of the crash to North Kansas City Hospital by NRAD EMS with moderate injuries. The passenger in the Bublit vehicle, Kathy Bublit, was taken to Heartland Hospital by NRAD EMS after sustaining minor injuries in the crash. The at-fault driver, Kevin Groves, was not injured in the crash.

William's vehicle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by GT Tow. The Bublit vehicle received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Express Tow. The at-fault bus received moderate damage in the crash and was driven from the scene.

All drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash. All drivers and passengers involved in this crash were wearing their safety devices.

This crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. Kutzner of Troop A and was assisted by Sgt. D.J. Hedrick, Trooper M. Yoder, Platte City and Kansas City Fire Departments. Investigation of this crash continues, charges are pending.

Crash Occurs as Tire is Blown and Driver Loses Control

In Platte County, five occupants in the same vehicle all receive minor injuries to serious injuries as the driver lost control due to the tire's blow out.

On September 5, 2011 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Driver Kye Win, 38, of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2005 Kia Sedona and traveling in the northbound direction of I-29 at Route E. The other four occupants; 40 year old Say Hai, 48 year old Poe Lay, 48 year old Ze Paw, and Moo Gue, whose information is unknown are residents of the Kansas City area.

At that said time and place, Kye Win was traveling northbound on I-29 and suddenly lost control as the front tire blew out. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway on Route E and overturned once, ejecting two of his passengers in the vehicle. Finally the vehicle came to a rest on its wheels off of the roadway.

Kye Win did not report any medical injuries, but as for Say Hai, she sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Heartland Hospital for her medical treatment. The other three occupants received minor injuries and were also taken to Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph to seek medical attention for their injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that none of the occupants in this crash were wearing any safety devices.

Kye Win's 2005 Kia Sedona received total damages from this crash and was towed by Express Tow to a lot in Platte City.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of Platte County sheriff Deputies and Troop A.

Plane Crashes in Rural Morgan County

In Morgan County, a two-seater aircraft nose dives and crashes into a field where the pilot was the only occupant and now is in critical life conditions with serious injuries.

On September 5, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Gregory Everett, 63, of Versailles, Missouri was operating a Kolb Mark 3 Aircraft, which is an ultra light experimental model. The aircraft was designated to be in the northbound direction.

At that said time and place, Gregory Everett had just taken off from a private airstrip in his Kolb Mark 3 aircraft when he called the airfield and stated that his engine was overheating and was causing the airplane to stall. The aircraft stalled and went nose first into a field on private property off of Great Oaks Road and Sheep Drive. Everett was the only person on the plane.

The crash happened in a bean field between Fortuna and Versailles, Deputies believed the pilot was trying to make his way back to a private air street about seven miles away when he crashed.

Gregory Everett received very serious injuries due to this plane crash. Everett was flown by the Staff for Life to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri where he would be treated for medical attention.

The result of the Kolb Mark 3 Aircraft received total damages after crashing head-on into the ground. The aircraft remains in the field and is secured with pending in a FAA investigation.

This crash was taken over by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and remains under investigation.

Injuries result from Head-On Collision for Two Missouri Residents

When one driver crossed the center line, a head-on collision resulted in minor to moderate injuries for two Missouri residents in Iron County.

On October 4, 2011 at approximately 10:25am, 66-year-old Patsy Moore from Farmington, Missouri was heading southbound on Hwy 221 one mile north of Pilot Knob in a 2004 Oldsmobile. At the said time and place, Jermarco Burse, age 37, from Annapolis, Missouri was operating a 1999 Chevrolet and heading northbound on Hwy 221.

The crash occurred when Moore crossed the centerline and struck Burse's vehicle in a head-on collision. Neither of the drivers had passengers. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The at-fault driver, Patsy Moore, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance from the scene of the crash to Iron County Hospital in Pilot Knob, Missouri. Jermarco Burse suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance from the scene of the crash to Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Missouri.

Moore's 2004 Oldsmobile received extensive damages and was towed by Adams Dale Custom Auto Service from Arcadia, Missouri. Burse's Chevrolet received total damage and was also towed by Adams Dale Custom Auto Service from Arcadia, Missouri. Moore had State Farm Insurance, and Burse had Progressive insurance at the time of the crash.

Car Strikes Pedestrian and is Seriously Injured

In Johnson County, a man unknowingly hits one Warrensburg resident with his car and suffers from serious injuries.

On September 2, 2011 at approximately 7:20 p.m., 27 year old Brian Wood from the Whiteman Air Force Base was operating a 2003 Pontiac traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri Business Route 13, only 347 feet north of SE 125 Road.

That same time and place, the Missouri State Highway Patrol states that Brian Wood struck something that broke his windshield. Mr. Wood contacted law enforcement, but was not certain of what he had struck. Upon investigation at the scene, it was determined that Brian Woods had struck 22-year-old Warrensburg resident Jisun Jang. Jisun Jang was walking on Missouri Business Route 13 when he was struck by Mr. Wood's vehicle.

Jisan Jung was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for medical attention. Jang suffered from serious injuries. In this crash, Brian Woods was not injured.

Brian Wood's 2003 Pontiac received minor damages, only his windshield was shattered from the result of the crash. Wood's vehicle was towed by B & L towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A. C. The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Tractor Crash in Jackson County Results in Serious Injuries for Two

One man was ejected and both vehicles ended up in the ditch with total damage when one driver attempted to pass a tractor on Hwy H in Jackson County on Monday October 3.

On October 3, 2011 at approximately 7:10pm, 54-year-old Curtis Dieckmann from Sibley, Missouri was operating a 1968 Farmall Tractor heading northbound on Hwy H one-half mile north of Bonehill Road. At the said time and place, Christopher Wade, age 36, from Buckner, Missouri was also heading northbound on Hwy H in a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado.

The crash occurred when Wade attempted to pass Dieckmann and struck the tractor. Wade was ejected from his vehicle, and both vehicles traveled off to the right side of the road and came to rest in the ditch. Neither of the drivers had passengers, nor was wearing seatbelts.

Dieckmann suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Centerpoint Medical Center by Fort Osage Emergency Medical Services. Wade also suffered serious injuries and was life lighted from the scene of the crash to Centerpoint Medical Hospital.

The 1968 Farmall Tractor was totaled and secured at the scene of the crash. Wade's Chevrolet was also totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by GT Tow Service from Smithville, Missouri.

This investigated was led by Trooper R.A. Wood and assisted by Trooper R.E. Scism, the Fort Osage Fire Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.

The investigation continues and charges are pending.

Two-vehicle Accident Results in Serious Injuries for One

In St. Francois County, one woman is seriously injured when the at-fault driver attempts to make a right turn from the left lane.

On September 1, 2011 at approximately 5:25 p.m., 16 year old Matthew Whaley, from Bonne Terre, Missouri was operating a 1999 Ford Taurus traveling in the northbound direction on US 67 at the St. Francois State Park Entrance. 69 year old, Karen Brooks, from De Soto, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford Explorer traveling the northbound direction as well.

At that said time and place, Matthew was leaving the St. Francois State Park on US 67 at the entrance. Matthew attempted to make a left turn in the right lane. The left side of his vehicle struck into the right side of Karen Brook's vehicle. After the impact, Karen Brooks travelled off the roadway, struck a stop sign and then continued to travel down a steep ravine where her vehicle came to a rest.

Karen Brook's sustained serious injuries from this crash and was taken by air evacuation to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur to be treated for her critical condition. The at-fault driver, Matthew Whaley, did not seek medical attention.

Karen Brook's 2001 Ford Explorer received total damage, while Matthew's 1999 Ford Taurus received extensive damages. Both vehicles were towed by Buckley's Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by Sergeant R. Watson #1155 in Troop C.

Boone County, Missouri Crash Leads to Serious Injuries for Motorcyclist

Missouri woman is ejected from her motorcycle when another driver fails to yield.

On October 2, 2011 at approximately 1:34 p.m., 52 year old Donna Leonard of Boonville, Missouri was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson traveling southbound on Route O at Brome Road. At that said time and place, 40 year old Stacey Lee of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 2001 Dodge traveling northbound on Route O.

Lee then attempted to make a left turn onto Brome Road and drove into the path of Leonard's motorcycle. Lee's vehicle then struck Leonard. Leonard then travelled off the right side of the roadway, and was ejected from her motorcycle.

Donna Leonard was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to University Hospital with serious injuries. The at-fault driver, Stacey Lee, was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Leonard's motorcycle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Carl's Towing of Columbia. The at-fault vehicle received only minor damage in the crash and was driven from the scene. The at-fault driver did possess insurance coverage for her vehicle at the time of the crash; however, it is unknown whether the injured driver possessed insurance coverage.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M. Halford of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper B. Germann.

Two are Pronounced Dead in North County Crash

In St. Louis County, two are pronounced fatal after an early-morning collision on I-270.

On September 25, 2011 at approximately 1:01 a.m., Patrick Walsh, 20, from St. Charles, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the westbound direction. Nicole Stanner, age 36, from O'Fallon, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and traveling in the westbound direction on I-270. Nicole had six other passengers with her; Steven Brueggen age 38 and from Florissant, Kenneth Frederick age 38 and from St. Charles, John (37) and Judy (38) Hart from St. Charles, Kevin Leahy age 48 and from St. Charles, and Michael McLemore age 37 and from O'Fallon.

At that said time and place, Patrick and Nicole were traveling in the westbound direction on I-270 west, west of Florissant Road. Both traveling in the same direction, Patrick struck into the rear of Nicole's vehicle causing her to roll-over multiple times and travel off the right side of the roadway.

The at-fault driver, Patrick Walsh, sustained minor injuries from this crash and was taken to Christian Northwest Hospital by Ferguson PD. Nicole Stanner received minor injuries as well, she was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Christian Northeast ambulance. All, except for two in Nicole's vehicle received only minor injuries. Kenneth Frederick and John Hart were taken to DePaul Hospital by Christian Northeast ambulance. The other two victims, Judy and Kevin were taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by the Christian Northeast ambulance. Victim, Steven Brueggen was pronounced dead at the scene at 0130 hours by Dr. King with the Christian Northeast ambulance. Also, Michael McLemore was pronounced dead at the scene at 0123 hours by the Christian Northeast ambulance personnel.

Nicole Stanner's 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe received total damages and was towed by Hood's Towing. Patrick Walsh's 2005 Chevrolet Silverado also received the total damages from this auto -crash and was also towed by Hood's Towing.

This crash was investigated by Troopers; E. Pape #1216, Z. Kral # 1379 and assisted by Corporal S. Buchheit #142, Sergeant H. Smith #974 and P. Kempke # 982 and Crash Team #2 in Troop C.

Two-Vehicle Crash Results in Fatality

In Clark County, a resident of Canton was rear ended and then overturned several times in his vehicle causing his death.

On September 29, 2011 at approximately 5:38 p.m., Ryan Regar, 23 years old and from Ewing, Missouri, was operating a 2004 Ford Mustang and traveling in the northbound direction. Glennon Docherman, 59 years old and from Canton, Missouri, was operating a 1994 GMC 1500 Pick-up traveling as well in the northbound direction on US 61, only 3 miles south of Wayland.

At the said time and place, both Ryan and Glennon were traveling northbound on US 61. Ryan then rear ended Glennon, causing him to run off the left side of the roadway and to overturn many times. As Glennon's car overturned, it then struck the median and came to a final rest on its top in the southbound side of US 61. Ryan also came to a rest upon the post-crash.

Glennon was pronounced fatal at the scene of the crash by Clark County Coroner, Edwin Wilson.

From the results of this crash, Ryan received no injuries and was not transported to a hospital. As for Glennon, his body was transferred by the coroner to Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.

Glennon's 1994 GMC Pick-up sustained total damages and was towed by Brewers Kahoka Towing. Ryan's 2004 Ford Mustang also received total damages and was towed by Roberts Towing in Ewing, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
