St. Joseph, Missouri Man Killed in Dekalb County Crash

Missouri man is fatally injured in rear-end US 36 crash with utility bucket truck.

On December 29, 2011 at approximately 5:26 p.m., 63 year old Thomas Stohr of St. Joseph, Missouri was operating a 2000 Ford traveling eastbound on US 36, about two miles east of Stewartsville. Stohr was not transporting any passengers.

At that said time and place, 29 year old Christopher Kemp of Patterson, Missouri was operating a 2005 International Utility Bucket Truck. Kemp was pulling onto westbound US 36, in front of Stohr, from a field. Stohr's vehicle collided with the rear of Kemp's utility bucket truck. Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane of US 36.

Thomas Stohr was pronounced dead at 6:14 p.m. by the Dekalb County Coroner. Stohr was transported from the scene of the crash to Bram Funeral Home in Maysville, Missouri by Dekalb County Coroner. Truck driver, Christopher Kemp, was uninjured in the crash. Both parties were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Stohr's vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Scotty's of Cameron, Missouri. The utility truck sustained extensive damage and was also towed from the scene of the crash by Scotty's of Cameron. It is unknown whether either driver possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. P.M. Kimball of Troop H and was assisted by Cpl. A.A. Henry, Sgt. M.A. Cool and the Dekalb County SO.

Three-Car Crash in New Madrid County

When one driver failed to yield before pulling out into an intersection, she caused a three-car crash and injuries for two other drivers in New Madrid County.

On December 28, 2011 at approximately 5:10 P.M., 48-year-old David Skelton from Senath, Missouri was heading southbound on Highway 25 at Highway 62 just east of Malden in a 1998 Hyundai. At said time and place, Judith Rice, age 57, from Gibson, Missouri was eastbound in a 2003 GMC Truck. Also at this time and place, Shannon Hoggard, age 39, from Malden, Missouri was heading westbound in a 1988 Chevrolet Blazer.

The crash occurred when Hoggard failed to yield to traffic as he was pulling onto Missouri Highway 25 from Highway 62. He crashed into Skelton and Skelton slid and crashed into Hoggard. Skelton was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Rice was wearing her seatbelt, and it is unknown if Hoggard had her seatbelt on at this time.

Skelton suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett, Missouri. Rice suffered minor injuries and was also transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Twin Rivers Hospitals. Hoggard did not report injuries nor seek medical treatment at the scene of the crash.

Skelton's Hyundai received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Dixie Wrecker Service in Malden, Missouri. Rice's truck received minor damage and was drive from the scene of the crash by a relative. Hoggard's vehicle received moderate damage and was removed from the scene of the crash by the owner.

This investigation was led by Trooper R L Vannada of Troop E in New Madrid County.

Missouri Resident Killed in Head-On Collision in Jefferson County

When one driver crossed over the center line, he crashed into oncoming traffic in a head-on collision killing the victim.

On December 27, 2011 at approximately 8:45 P.M., 42-year-old Ernest Jones from De Soto, Missouri was traveling northbound on Missouri 21.5 miles south of Mothershead Road in Jefferson County in a 1995 Ford Taurus. At said time and place, Frank Ciliberto, age 74, from Potosi, Missouri was operating a 2005 Ford Explorer and heading southbound. Jones had one passenger - Seth Crumpton, age 24, from De Soto, Missouri.

The crash occurred as Jones crossed the center line and crashed into Ciliberto in a head-on collision. Ciliberto's vehicle traveled off the side of the roadway and overturned. Ciliberto was ejected from his vehicle.

The victim, Ciliberto, suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri by Survival Flight. Jones, the at-fault driver, was killed and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Valle Ambulance personnel and was transported to Schaefer Mortuary Service in Jefferson County. Jones's passenger, Crumpton, suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Valle Ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Jones and Ciliberto were not wearing their seatbelt, and Crumpton was at the time of the crash.

Jones's Taurus received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Shank's Auto, Truck Repair and Towing from De Soto, Missouri. Ciliberto's Explorer received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Shank's Auto, Truck Repair and Towing.

This investigation was led by Trooper Mark D Albright of Troop C in Jefferson County.

Columbia Man Fatally Injured in Head-on Crash

Callaway County head-on crash results in death for one Missouri resident and serious injury for another.

On December 27, 2011 at approximately 7:10 a.m., 55 year old John Drew of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2001 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Highway 63 at Turkey Creek Bridge. Drew was not transporting any passengers at the time.

At that said time and place, 57 year old Sharon Keeran of California, Missouri was operating a 1987 GMC Pick-up traveling northbound on Highway 63. Keeran lost control on an ice covered bridge, traveled off the left side of the road, through the median cables and into the path of Drew's vehicle in the southbound lanes of Highway 63. Drew then had no other choice and struck Keeran's vehicle head-on.

John Drew was taken from the scene of the crash by ambulance to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Christopher Nelson at 9:00 a.m. Drew was wearing his safety device at the time of the crash. The at-fault driver, Sharon Keeran, was also transported from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the crash. Keeran was not wearing her safety device at the time of the crash.

Drew's vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Tow Pro. The at-fault vehicle also sustained total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Tow Pro. The decedent did not possess insurance coverage for his vehicle at the time of the crash; however, the at-fault driver did possess coverage.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. J. Lowary of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper C. Winter and Jefferson City Police Department. This was Troop F's 7th fatality for the month of December and 62nd for the year of 2011.

St. Charles County Crash Leaves Two Missourians Injured

St. Peters, Missouri driver fails to yield, causing a two car crash which ended in injury.

On December 26, 2011 at approximately 7:00 p.m., 48 year old Cherie Gerdel of Foristell, Missouri was operating a 1995 Chevrolet G20 van traveling westbound on Highway N at Hepperman Road. Gerdel had two passengers in her vehicle at the time: 29 year old Lucas Allen and 32 year old April Denton, both of Foristell.

At that said time and place, 43 year old Steven Kurzawa of St. Peters, Missouri was operating a 1998 Dodge Durango traveling southbound on Hepperman Road. Kurzawa failed to stop for a stop sign and struck the Gerdel vehicle on the passenger side.

Passenger April Denton was taken from the scene of the crash by St. Charles County Ambulance to St. Joseph's West with moderate injuries. Passenger Lucas Allen was also taken to St. Joseph's West by St. Charles County Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. Driver Cheri Gerdel and the at-fault driver Steven Kurzawa were both uninjured in the crash. All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Gerdel's vehicle sustained extensive damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by I-70 Towing. The at-fault vehicle also sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by I-70 Towing. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper S.C. Anderson of Troop C.

Camdenton Woman is killed from Crash on Christmas Day

In Camden County, a resident from Camdenton, Missouri lost control of her vehicle and was killed in this head-on collision while two others are sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

On December 25, 2011 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Donna Miller, age 59 and of Camdenton, Missouri was operating a 2007 Ford Focus traveling in the southbound direction on Highway 7. The other participants involved in this crash are Warren West, age 53 and of Roach, Missouri and his passenger, Tonya Kelley, age 41 and of Osage Beach, Missouri. Warren was operating a 2007 Chevrolet traveling in the northbound direction on Highway 7.

At that said time and place, Donna Miller was traveling south on Highway 7, just north of Fiery Fork, as Warren was traveling north. Then, Donna lost control of her vehicle while driving along a curve and crossed the center line and collided with Warren's vehicle head-on.

Donna Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by a Camden County coroner, Dr. Jungles, and it is reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol that she was not wearing a safety device. Donna was taken to Allee Holman Howe in Camdenton, Missouri.

Warren West received moderate injuries from this crash and was transported by St. Johns ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Warren's passenger, Tonya Kelley, received serious injuries as a result from the collision and was flown-in by the Staff for Life to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri where she was treated for her medical condition.

Donna Miller's 2007 Ford Focus and Warren's 2007 Chevrolet received total damages from this crash and both were towed by Walkers Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of trooper S. White and C. Mistler of troop F. This is troop F's 61st fatality for 2011.

Carthage Woman Dies from Head-on Collision

In Jasper County, one woman is killed and another sustains moderate injuries from a head-on collision that occurred when the driver overcorrected and lost control.

On December 27, 2011 at approximately 12:05 p.m., Chelsey Burgess, age 21 and of Carthage, Missouri was operating a 1993 Ford Taurus traveling in the westbound direction. Janiece Siebert, age 47 and of Carthage, Missouri and her newborn son, Malachi, were the at-fault participants of this crash. Janiece was operating a 1999 Lexus Lx470 and traveling in the eastbound direction.

At that said time and place, Janiece Siebert was traveling eastbound on Cedar Road, only four miles south of Carthage, as she then ran off the right edge of the road and overcorrected, lost control, crossed the center line and collided with Chelsey Burgess head-on.

Chelsey Burgess was transported by ambulance to McCune-Brooks Hospital, where she was then declared dead by Dr. Michael Eastman.

Required by State Law, Janiece, being the surviving driver would be tested for alcohol consumption. No further evidence is supplied but Patrol Spokesman Sgt. Mike Watson did quote that alcohol was not involved in this accident.

Janiece Siebert received moderate injuries and her newborn son, Malachi, received minor injuries as a result from this crash. Both were transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Chelsey Burgess' 1993 Ford Taurus and Janiece's 1999 Lexus received total damages from the crash and both were towed by M & M Wrecker in Carthage.

This auto-crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Brandon Helms and Eddie Walker of troop D.

West Plains Family Injured in Two-vehicle Crash

In Howell County, a family of West Plains, Missouri was injured as another vehicle pulled into their path and caused the crash.

On December 17, 2011 at approximately 4:12 p.m., James Pitts, age 32 and of Myrtle, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford traveling in the northbound direction of US 160. Dustin Ledbetter, age 28 and a resident of West Plains was the passenger in Pitt's vehicle. The other vehicle that participated in this crash was the Cauthen Family of five. Codey Cauthen, age 25, and was operating a 2004 Ford traveling eastbound on US 160. Elizabeth Cauthen and her three children, newborns Emma and Greyden and 2 year-old Grant, were all passengers in the vehicle with Codey.

At that said time and place, Codey Cauthen was traveling eastbound on US 160 at County Rd., and only six miles east of West Plains. The crash occurred when James Pitts pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by Codey Cauthen and collided.

Driver, James Pitts, and his passenger, Dustin Ledbetter, were transported with serious injuries to the Ozarks Medical Center by the South Howell ambulance. Driver, Codey Cauthen, was air lifted to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri by the air evacuation team in West Plains. Codey reported to have serious injuries from the result of this crash. Elizabeth Cauthen sustained moderate injuries and while her two year-old son, Grant, received minor injuries were transported to Ozarks Medical Center. Two infants in Cauthen's vehicle were uninjured.

James Pitt's 2002 Ford received total damages and was towed by Sterners Towing. Codey Cauthen's 2004 Ford received total damages and was towed by J & J Recovery towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as well with the assistance of trooper D. Johnson of troop G.

St. Louis County Two Car Crash Results in Injury for One

Missouri man sustained moderate injuries in two car t-bone crash on Highway 30 in St. Louis County.

On December 20, 2011 at approximately 9:20 p.m., 60 year old Dale Tumbas of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 1998 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on Highway 30, about .3 mile west of Highway PP. Tumbas was not transporting any passengers in his vehicle.

At that said time and place, 31 year old Jason Leeker of High Ridge, Missouri was operating a 2005 Ford F-150 traveling southbound on Highway 30. Leeker then attempted to make a left turn from westbound Highway 30 onto Ottomeyer Road, failing to yield to Tumbas. Tumbas then had no other option and struck the right side of Leeker's vehicle.

Dale Tumbas was transported from the scene of the crash by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. The at-fault driver, Jason Leeker, was uninjured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Tumbas' vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by High Ridge Towing. The at-fault vehicle driven by Jason Leeker sustained extensive damage and was also towed from the scene of the crash by High Ridge Towing. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper G. Gronemeyer of Troop C.

Crash Leaves Missouri Resident Injured from Overturned Car

When one driver attempted to change lanes, he crashed into another driver, and the victim's vehicle over-turned and crashed into a guardrail in Jasper County.

On December 19, 2011 at approximately 6:30 A.M., 40-year-old Tammy Mood of Joplin, Missouri was operating a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica and heading northbound on US 71 five miles north of Carthage. At said time and place, John McBride, age 51, from Carthage, Missouri was also heading northbound.

The crash occurred as McBride attempted to merge into the right lane from the left lane crashing into Moody. Moody then slid off the left side of the road, over-turned and crashed into a guardrail. McBride was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if Moody was wearing her seatbelt at this time.

Moody suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. The at-fault driver, McBroom, did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Moody's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Chuck's Towing of Joplin, Missouri. Moody had Rio National Auto Insurance at this time. McBride's vehicle, a 2009 International TTL, received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. McBride had Old Republic Auto Insurance at this time.

This investigation was led by Sergeant Dennis Kuechler of Troop D in Jasper County.

Two Missouri Residents Injured in Tractor Collision

When one driver lost control, she crossed over the center line and crashed into an oncoming tractor driver causing injuries for her passenger and the victim.

On December 6, 2011 at approximately 11:00 A.M., 62-year-old Christine Osbourne from Monroe City, Missouri was traveling westbound on Highway Missouri 22 ½ mile west of Route E in a 2005 Dodge. Osbourne had one passenger - Carolyn Harris, age 49, from Paris, Missouri. At said time and place, Ryan Brockmeier, age 27, from Centralia, Missouri was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Sterling Tractor.

The crash occurred when Osbourne lost control of her vehicle, slid off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed over the center line to crash into Brockmeier's tractor. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Harris, Osbourne's passenger, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by EMS to University Hospital of Columbia, Missouri. Brockmeier suffered moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to University Hospital from the scene of the crash.

Osbourne's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Ron's Collision of Mexico, Missouri. Brockmeier's tractor received moderate damage and was towed by I-70 Towing of Columbia, Missouri. Osbourne had National Interstate Automobile Insurance and Brockmeier had Safeco Automobile Insurance at the time of the crash.

This investigation was led by Trooper D. Sullivan and assisted by Sergeant D. McPike of Troop F in Audrain County.

6 Passengers Suffer Injuries in Clay County Crash

When one driver tried to pass another driver on I-35 at Antioch Road in Clay County, he crashed into the right side of the vehicle causing the victim to lose control, crash into a pole, and roll down a steep embankment.

On December 14, 2011 at approximately 5:30 P.M., 19-year-old Romano Mu from Waterloo, Iowa was heading westbound on I-35 at Antioch Road in a 2001 Nissan. At said time and place, Michael Perry, age 58, of Kansas City, Missouri was traveling westbound in a 2005 Ford. Perry had 6 passengers - 5-year-old Michael Hickman, 7-year-old Quasaan Hickman, 57-year-old Glenda Perry, 36-year-old Meshanna Perry, 14-year-old Chardinee Tatum, and 9-year-old Ronni Tatum all from Kansas City, Missouri.

The crash occurred as Mu passed Perry in the right lane of traffic and crashed into his vehicle's rear driver side causing Perry to lose control. Perry ran off the right side of the roadway, crashed into a utility pole, and rolled down a steep embankment coming to rest on a chain link fence.

Neither driver suffered injuries as a result of this crash. Perry's passenger, Michael Hickman, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, Missouri. Both Quasaan Hickman and Glenda Perry suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene of the crash. Meshanna Perry, Tatum Chardinee, and Ronni Tatum suffered minor injuries and were transported from the scene of the crash by EMS to Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, Missouri.

Mu's vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Perry's vehicle received total damage was towed by Precision Collison of Liberty, Missouri.

This crash was investigated by Corporal J. Green of Troop A in Clay County.

Two Missouri Families Injured in St. Francois County Crash

When one driver failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 8 and Route J in St. Francois County, he crashed into oncoming traffic and injuries for two Missouri families resulted.

On December 14, 2011 at approximately 5:25 P.M., 47-year-old Elizabeth Gould from Park Hills, Missouri was heading eastbound on Highway 8 in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer with three passengers. At said time, 72-year-old John Strasser from Park Hills, Missouri was operating a 1995 Toyota Tocoma and heading southbound on Route P with one passenger. Gould's passengers include 18-year-old Jacob Gould from Park Hills, Missouri, 10-year-old Thomas Gould from Park Hills, Missouri, and 18-year-old Madeisun Young from Farmington, Missouri. Gail Strasser, age 65, from Park Hills, Missouri was John Strasser's only passenger at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred when Strasser failed to yield before entering into the intersection of Missouri Highway 8 and Route J crashing into Gould on the right side of her vehicle.

Strasser and his passenger, Gail, suffered moderate injuries as a result and were transported from the scene of the crash to Parkland Hospital by St. Francois County Ambulance. Elizabeth Gould suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center of Farmington, Missouri by St. Francois County Ambulance from the scene of the crash. Gould's passengers, Thomas, Jacob and Madeisun, suffered minor injuries and were transported by St. Francois County Ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.

Strasser's vehicle received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Buckley Towing Service of Park Hills, Missouri. Strasser's vehicle also received extensive damage and was towed by Buckley Towing Service. It is unknown whether either driver had Automobile Insurance at the time of the crash.

This investigation was led by Sergeant J. Ellsworth of Troop C in St. Francois County.

Minnesotan Passenger Killed in One-Car Crash

When one driver lost control of his vehicle, it overturned causing moderate injuries for himself and the death of his passenger.

On December 14, 2011 at approximately 1:14 A.M., 21-year-old Steven Buchanon from Troy, Missouri was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu and heading southbound on Route J 110 feet north of Oak Forest Drive in Lincoln County. Buchanon had one passenger - 39-year-old Scott Trom from Big Lake, Minnesota.

The crash occurred when Buchanon travelled off the left side of the roadway and then overcorrected and slid off the right side of the road crashing into a concrete driveway barrier. The vehicle overturned onto its top and came to rest facing west. Neither Buchanon nor Trom was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Buchanon suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to St. Joseph Hospital West of St. Louis, Missouri by Lincoln County Ambulance. Then he was transported to St. Joseph Hospital of St. Charles by St. Charles County Ambulance. Trom was killed as a result of this crash, pronounced dead at the scene, and transported by McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home to his family's location in Troy, Missouri.

Buchanon's vehicle received total damage and was towed by Brian's Towing of Troy, Missouri. It is unknown whether or not Buchanon had Automobile Insurance at the time of the crash. This investigation was led by Sergeant M. Coon and Corporal J. Mulkey of Troop C in Lincoln County.

De Soto, Missouri Elderly Man Injured in T-Bone Crash

Jefferson County crash involving two vehicles leaves elderly man of De Soto, Missouri injured.

On December 8, 2011 at approximately 9:10 p.m., 73 year old Dorthy Dorlac of De Soto, Missouri was operating a 2008 Ford Focus traveling southbound on Route E at Klondike Road. Dorlac's vehicle was occupied by herself and 82 year old John Dorlac, also of De Soto, Missouri.

At that said time and place, 33 year old Maria Griggs of Potosi, Missouri was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling northbound on Route E. Griggs was not transporting any passengers. While attempting to make a turn onto Klondike Road, Griggs failed to yield to the Dorlac vehicle. The front of Griggs' vehicle struck the right side of the Dorlac vehicle.

Passenger John Dorlac was taken from the scene of the crash by Valle Ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. No injury information was listed for Dorthy Dorlac or the at-fault driver, Maria Griggs. All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

The Dorlac vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Tom's Towing. The at-fault vehicle, driven by Maria Griggs, sustained total damage in the crash and was also towed from the scene by Tom's Towing. It is unknown whether the Dorlac vehicle was insured at the time of the crash. The at-fault driver, Griggs, did not possess insurance coverage for her vehicle at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper E. Van Winkle of Troop C.

Laclede County Crash Ends in Fatality for Missouri Driver

Missouri woman is killed in head-on crash near Phillipsburg, Missouri.

On December 10, 2011 at approximately 5:36 p.m., 67 year old Donna Lamkins of Phillipsburg, Missouri was operating a 2002 Buick Century traveling southbound on Nelly Drive, about 3.5 miles east of Phillipsburg. Lamkins did not have any passengers in her vehicle.

At that said time and place, 21 year old Jeremy Spradling of Conway, Missouri was operating a 2003 Ford F150 traveling northbound on Nelly Drive. Spradling then lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line and struck Lamkins. Spradling's vehicle then overturned.

Donna Lamkins was pronounced dead at 6:55 by Deputy Coroner Mike Noyes and was transported from the scene of the crash to Colonial Funeral Chapel by Colonial. No injury information was listed for the at-fault driver, Jeremy Spradling, who was not wearing his safety device at the time of the crash. The decedent was wearing her safety device at the time of the crash.

Both vehicles sustained total damage in the crash. Lamkins' vehicle was towed from the scene by C&S Towing. The at-fault vehicle was towed from the scene of the crash by Steve's Towing. Both drivers involved possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Jason Gendenning of Troop I. This was Troop I's 37th fatality for the year 2011.

Two MSSU Athletes are Killed by Crash

In Jasper County, a previous crash with two 19 year-old Missouri Southern athletes killed one passenger and three minutes later after a collision, killed a second passenger.

On December 2, 2011 at approximately 2:43 a.m., Jeremy Johnson, age 19 and from Harrison, Arkansas was operating a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder traveling in the westbound direction on I-44. The passengers in Jeremy's vehicle are Patrick Holt, from Benton, Arkansas, Diondre Johnson and Michael McCrimmons, both from Springfield, Missouri and all participants of this crash were 19 years of age. The collision was with Steven Sweeten, age 39 and a resident of Cameron, Oklahoma where he was operating a 2003 Sterling Conventional tractor trailer traveling in the eastbound direction on I-44.

At that said time and place, Jeremy Johnson was traveling westbound on I-44, only two miles east of Sarcoxie, Missouri were he suddenly veered off the roadway and struck the median. The vehicle overturned and ejected Diondre Johnson, as it then came to a rest in the passing lane of eastbound I-44. Diondre Johnson was immediately killed from this crash. Jeremy left the vehicle and was struck by a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Charles Lee, 62, of Wentworth, Missouri. Only three minutes later as Jeremy's vehicle was still overturned and disabled in the eastbound lane from the previous accident, it then was struck by Steven Sweeten and killed Michael McCrimmons.

Both Diondre Johnson and Michael McCrimmons were pronounced fatal by coroner, Rob Chappel, as both bodies were transported to Joplin Mortuary Service in Webb City. McCrimmons and Diondre Johnson were both 2010 graduates of Parkview High in Springfield, Missouri.

Required by state law the surviving driver, Jeremy Johnson, was involved with a fatality accident and must be tested for alcohol. The two surviving participants of the crash stated that they were returning to Joplin after visiting a nightclub in Springfield. No further evidence of alcohol consumption was reported.

Driver, Jeremy Johnson, was airlifted to Freeman Hospital in Joplin for his serious injuries. The only surviving passenger in Jeremy's vehicle is Patrick Holt. Patrick was airlifted to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for his serious injuries as well.

Jeremy's 2000 Nissan Pathfinder received total damages from this crash and was towed by M & M in Carthage, Missouri. Steven Sweeten's 2003 Sterling tractor received moderate damages from the crash and was towed by McDowells in Springfield, Missouri.

A candlelight vigil was held on the evening of Friday, December 2, 2011 for the two men on the Missouri Southern campus.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of trooper, Joe Fischer of troop D. This is the 105th fatality for troop D in 2011.

Wright County Crash Results in Serious Injuries for Four

When one driver crossed over the center line, he crashed into oncoming traffic causing injuries for himself, the victim and the victim's passengers.

On December 5, 2011 at approximately 9:30 A.M., David Melcher from Anderson, South Carolina was operating a 1995 Jeep and heading southbound on MO 5 four miles south of Hartville. At said time and place, 88-year-old Ben Arnall was traveling northbound in a 2007 Buick. Arnall had two passengers - Ike Moore, age 58, from Hartville, Missouri and Patsy Moore, age 52, from Hartville, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Melcher crossed over the center line driving towards oncoming traffic and crashed into Arnall in a head-on collision. Melcher was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Passenger Patsy Moore was not wearing her seatbelt either. Driver Ben Arnall and passenger Ike Moore were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Melcher suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri from the scene of the crash by Hammons Life Line. Ben Arnall suffered serious injuries and was also transported to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri from the scene of the crash by Hammons Life Line. Ike and Patsy Moore suffered moderate injuries and were transported from the scene of the crash to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri by St. John's Emergency Medical Services.

Melcher's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Elliott's Towing and Auto Salvage of Macomb, Missouri. Arnall's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Mansfield Service and Towing Inc of Mansfield, Missouri.

This crash was investigated by Sargeant S. L. Grass of Troop G in Wright County.

Two Men Killed in Webster County Train Crash

When the driver of a dump truck failed to yield to an oncoming train in Webster County, he and his father, the passenger of his vehicle, were instantly killed.

On December 5, 2011 at approximately 8:10 A.M., 34-year-old Chad Lee from Ava, Missouri was operating a 1990 International dump truck and traveling southbound on Oak Lawn Road 1 mile east of Seymour, Missouri. Lee had one passenger, his 58-year-old father, Gary Lee, from Seymour, Missouri. At said time and place, Timothy Flower, age 62, from Springfield, Missouri was heading eastbound in a Burlington Northern 2011 General Electric Locomotive.

The crash occurred when Lee failed to yield to the oncoming locomotive, entered into the crossing, and was crashed into by the locomotive broadside. This particular crossing is not controlled by signal devices. It is controlled by cross bucks only. Neither driver nor passenger was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Both Chad Lee and his father were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Webster County Coroner Michael Taylor at approximately 8:50 A.M. The next-of-kin was notified. Their bodies were transported from the scene of the crash to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. The driver of the locomotive did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Lee's dump truck received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Marshfield Towing of Marshfield, Missouri. It is unknown whether Lee had automotive insurance on his vehicle at this time. Flower's locomotive received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash.

This investigation was led by Troop D of Webster County. This crash was Troop D's 107th and 108th fatality for the 2011 year.

Teenage Driver Killed in Franklin County Accident

When one teenage driver failed to stop at a stop sign, he entered the intersection of Hendricks Road and Highway 30 and crashed into oncoming traffic. The at-fault driver and victim suffered moderate injuries, and his passenger was killed as a result of this crash.

On November 29, 2011 at approximately 2:05pm, 17-year-old Gunnar Smith from Dittmer, Missouri was traveling southbound on Highway 30 at Hendricks Road in a 2003 Ford Escort. At same time and place, 66-year-old Glennon Naeger from Perryville, Missouri was operating a 1999 Winnebago traveling eastbound on highway 30. Smith had one passenger - Nicholas Decker, age 17, from High Ridge, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Smith entered the intersection of Hendricks Road and Highway 30 after failing to stop at a stop sign. Naeger crashed in to the right side of Smith's vehicle. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

Decker was killed as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The next-of-kin was notified, and he was taken to the St. Louis morgue by Russell Funeral Home. Smith suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Arch Helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Naeger suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to St. Anthony's Medical Center by St. Clair Ambulance.

Smith's Ford was totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by Hoffman's Towing and Service of St. Clair, Missouri. Naeger's Winnebago was totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by Vogelgesang Towing of St. Clair, Missouri.

Two Missouri Residents Killed in Caldwell County

One driver, carrying an eighteen foot trailer, crossed over the centerline and hit another driver in a head-on collision, which resulted in his and his victim's death on MO Hwy 116 in Caldwell County.

On November 28, 2011 at approximately 8:45 A.M., 66-year-old Hubert Swope from Braymer, Missouri was operating a 1997 Ford and heading eastbound on MO Hwy 116 three miles west of Braymer. At said time and place, 46-year-old Kenneth Debolt from Braymer, Missouri was heading westbound in a 1995 Ford van.

The crash occurred as Swope, pulling an 18 foot trailer, crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into Debolt in the westbound lane. Swope's vehicle came to rest on its wheels near the area of impact in the eastbound lane facing west. Debolt's vehicle came to rest on its wheels three feet from the road facing south.

Both drivers were killed and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Caldwell County Sheriff and transported to Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Neither of the drivers had been wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Swope's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Walker's Towing of Maryville, Missouri. Debolt's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Scotty's Towing of Cameron, Missouri.

This investigation was led by Corporal M. K. Allen, Sergeant J. H. Thompson, Corporal R. A. Sherman, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department and Braymer Fire and Rescue.

Two-Vehicle Crash that Involves Cable Barrier Damage and Ejection of Driver

In Stoddord County, driver struck another vehicle in the rear as it ran off the roadway, ejecting driver, and the vehicle then struck the cable barrier damaging poles and cables.

On December 1, 2011 at approximately 5:49 p.m., Dustin Teague, age 18 and a resident of Popular Bluff, Missouri was operating a 2003 GMC Pick-up traveling in the eastbound direction of US 60. Gary Quinton, age 39 and also a resident of Popular Bluff, Missouri was operating a 1990 GMC truck traveling in the eastbound direction of US 60.

At that said time and place, Dustin was traveling eastbound on US 60 about three miles away from Dudley, Missouri as Gary was doing the same. Dustin then struck the rear of Gary's vehicle forcing him off the right side of the roadway and ejecting Gary while his vehicle struck a cable barrier.

Gary's vehicle caused damage to state property as the cable barrier poles and cables were damaged.

Gary Quinton was the only one who received medical attention due to his moderate injuries from the crash. Gary was taken by ambulance to the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri.

Dustin's 2003 GMC pick-up received moderate damages. Dustin was able to drive his vehicle from the scene of the crash. Gary's 1990 GMC truck received extensive damages from the crash and was towed by Swank's Towing.

Both participants of this crash were not wearing any safety devices.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of Trooper, T. D. Templemire of Troop E.

Stoddard County Crash Ends in Injury

Poplar Bluff, Missouri man is moderately injured after getting rear-ended.

On December 1, 2011 at approximately 5:49 a.m., 39 year old Gary Quinton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri was operating a 1990 GMC Truck traveling eastbound on US 60, three miles west of Dudley. At that said time and place, 18 year old Dustin Teague was operating 2003 GMC Pickup also traveling eastbound on US 60. Teague rear ended Quinton, causing Quinton's vehicle to run off the side of the road. Quinton was ejected from the car.

Four Car Crash on Interstate 70 in St. Louis County

When one driver lost control of her vehicle on Interstate 70 and crashed into a median wall, three other drivers crashed into her. Of the four drivers, two received minor injuries.

On November 22, 2011 at approximately 8:40 A.M., 26-year-old Christina Sutherland from St. Louis, Missouri was traveling westbound on I-70 west of St. Charles Rock Road in a 2002 Nissan Altima. At said time and place, 33-year-old Nicole Overboe from St. Louis, Missouri was traveling west in a 2011 Toyota Sienna. Also traveling westbound at this time was 54-year-old Althea Taylor from Pasadena Hills, Missouri in a 2002 Chevrolet and 33-year-old Reco Green from Madison, Illinois is a 1995 Ford F80.

The crash occurred when Sutherland was traveling too fast for unsafe road conditions, lost control of her vehicle, and crashed into the median wall. Overboe then crashed into Sutherland's vehicle on the left side, and the impact caused Sutherland's vehicle to merge into the third lane where it was crashed into by Green. Overboe's vehicle then crashed into Taylor as Taylor swerved to avoid the crash. All drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Christina Sutherland suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri by Pattonville EMS. Althea Taylor suffered minor injuries and was also transported to DePaul Hospital by Pattonville EMS.

Sutherland's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Eddie's Towing of St. Louis, Missouri. Overboe's Toyota received total damage and was also towed from the scene of the crash by Eddie's Towing. Taylor's Avalanche received minor damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Eddie's Towing. Green's Ford also received minor damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Eddie's Towing.

Overboe was the only driver to have Auto-Insurance at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Trooper B. Mills of Troop C in St. Louis County in Missouri.
