On March 13, 2012 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Darren Yancey, age 24 and of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2001 Toyota and traveling in the westbound direction of US 54. Benjamin Wilson, age 55, was operating a 1995 Chevrolet and traveling in the westbound direction. Denise Lucas, age 36, was the only passenger in Wilson's vehicle. Both Benjamin and Denise are residents of New Bloomfield, Missouri.
At that said time and place, Darren was following behind Wilson's vehicle too closely on US 54, when Darren became distracted and collided into the rear of Wilson's vehicle.
As a result of Darren's negligence, Benjamin Wilson received minor injuries and according to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Wilson refused medical attention. Wilson's passenger, Denise, sustained serious injuries as she was transported by EMS to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. Also according to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Darren was uninjured.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and was assisted by troop F.
