Left Turn Attempt Sends Three to Hospital

When one driver attempted to make a left turn off Highway 96 in Jasper County, oncoming traffic crashed into him sending three to the hospital for injuries.

On March 25, 2012 at approximately 9:30 A.M., 63-year-old Rodney Hall from Aberdeen, South Dakota was heading west in a 2007 Kia Sorrento on Highway 96 one mile west of Avilla. Hall had one passenger - Brenda Hall, age 59, from Aberdeen, South Dakota. At said time and place, Marena Seward, age 48, from Carthage, Missouri was heading east in a 2007 Cadillac DTS.

The crash occurred when Hall attempted to make a left turn into the path of oncoming driver, Seward. Seward crashed into Hall in a head-on collision.

Brenda Hall suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Rodney suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital. Seward suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Freeman West Hospital.

Hall's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by M&M Wrecker of Carthage, Missouri. Seward's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by M&M Wrecker.

This crash was investigated by Trooper B Crockett of Troop D in Jasper County.
