Drunk Driver Causes Accident, Injures Two

Franklin County - A drunk driver crossed the middle lane causing an accident Tuesday evening.

On April 30, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Sheila Walters, 57, of St. Clair, was driving a 2001 Dodge Dakota eastbound on North Outer Road I-44 East of St. Louis Inn Road. Lanina L. Roller, 30, of St. Clair, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound.

At that said date and time, Sheila Walters traveled into the westbound lane of traffic. Lanina L. Roller attempted to avoid a collision by swerving into the eastbound lane. The vehicles struck on the passenger side.

Sheila Walters was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries; Lanina L. Roller was taken to Mercy Hospital with moderate injuries.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred because Sheila Walters was inattentive and impaired by alcohol. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Lanina L. Roller's 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt and Sheila Walters' 2001 Dodge Dakota both received total damages and were towed from the scene by Hoffman Towing.

This accident was investigated by Trooper R. W. Clement of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C.
