Wet Pavement Causes Head-on Collision on I-55

In Jefferson County, two vehicles are involved in a head-on collision crash after one driver lost control on the wet pavement.

On November 21, 2013 at approximately 6:42 a.m., Scott Plesons, age 36 of Imperial, Missouri was operating a 1996 Ford F250. Blaire Nixon, age 20 of Imperial, Missouri was operating a 2006 Kia Spectra along with Brandon Buck, age 21 of Imperial, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Scott Plesons was traveling in the southbound direction as Blaire Nixon was traveling in the northbound direction on west outer road of I-55 and south of Old Antonia Road. The crash occurred as Blaire failed to negotiate a curve to the left when she lost control of her vehicle and began to slide on the wet pavement. Blaire's vehicle slid across the center of the road and the right front side of her vehicle collided with the front of Scott's vehicle in a head-on collision.

Brandon Buck was seriously injured and was transported to St. Louis University Hospital by Arch helicopter. Blaire Nixon received moderate injuries and was transported by Rock Township ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center. Scott Plesons received minor injuries and was transported by Rock Township ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all participants involved in this crash were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Scott's 1996 Ford F250 received total damages and was towed to his residence by Ive's Towing. Blaire's 2006 Kia Spectra received total damages from the head-on collision and was towed by Ive's Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
