High-Speed Police Chase Sends Two Teenagers to Hospital by Life-Flight

When one teenage driver was being pursued by the police, he crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of him on I-70 and caused moderate injuries for himself and serious injuries for his victim in Monroe County.

On February 25, 2012 at approximately 12:00 A.M., 17-year-old Tristan Davis from Moberly, Missouri was traveling eastbound on US 24 three miles east of Paris, Missouri in a 1999 Durango and was being pursued by police. At said time and place, Katy Hays, age 17, from Monroe City, Missouri was traveling eastbound in a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu.

The crash occurred when Davis crashed into the rear of Hays's vehicle on US 24 during the pursuit.

Davis suffered moderate injuries as a result of this crash and was transported by Monroe City Ambulance to Moberly Regional Medical Center then life-flighted to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Hays, the victim, suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Air Evac to University Hospital.

Davis's Durango received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Cummin's Towing and Recovery of Paris, Missouri. Hays's Malibu received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Cummin's Towing and Recovery.

This investigation was led by Trooper Lee C. Ewigman and assisted by Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Crash Team No. 2, Monroe County Fire Department, Monroe County Ambulance, and several other police officers.

Head-On Crash Causes Moderate Injuries for Two Missouri Residents

When one driver lost control of her vehicle, she crossed the center line and crashed into oncoming traffic causing moderate injuries for herself and victim in Johnson County.

On February 25, 2012 at approximately 4:10 P.M., 20-year-old Alyson Dumolt from Warrensburg, Missouri was traveling southbound on MO 13 south of Northeast 575 Road in a 1999 Saturn. At said time and place, Carlos Llamas, age 41, from Kansas City, Missouri was heading northbound in a 2006 Ford.

The crash occurred when Dumolt inattentively drove off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, crossed over the center line and crashed into an oncoming driver, Llamas. Llamas's vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into the embankment. Dumolt's vehicle came to rest in the northbound lanes partially off the east side of the roadway facing north.

Dumolt, the at-fault driver, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri by Johnson County EMS. Llamas suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Centerpoint Hospital by Johnson County EMS.

Dumolt's Saturn received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Tip Top Towing & Auto Care of Warrensburg, Missouri. Llamas's Ford received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by B & L Towing of Warrensburg, Missouri.

This investigation was led by Trooper J. S. Baughman and assisted by Corporal M. P. Fennewald and Trooper J. D. Owens.

Two Fatalities for Creighton Residents

In Cass County, residents of Creighton, Missouri attempt to pass another vehicle on a hill crest and collide head-on with vehicle killing both passengers.

On February 22, 2012 at approximately 7:37 p.m., Charles Kagarice, age 32, and his passenger Staci Cooper, age 26 and both from Creighton, Missouri were operating a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle and were traveling in the eastbound direction. Tammy Powers, age 47 and of Harrisonville, Missouri was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban and traveling in the westbound direction. David Phoenix, age 38 and of Centerview, Missouri was operating a 2008 Dodge Ram and traveling in the eastbound direction.

At that said time and place, Charles and Staci were traveling eastbound on East Highway 2 on a motorcycle. Charles attempted to pass David on a hill crest and veered into the opposite lane. Charles was unable to see Tammy's vehicle approaching westbound when Charles collided with Tammy head-on, ejecting both driver and passenger on the motorcycle. Charles' motorcycle then struck David's vehicle while Tammy drove off the left side of the road striking a utility pole and fence. Charles was able to drive to a controlled stop.

Charles Kagarice and Staci Cooper were pronounced fatal at the scene of the crash by Jackson County coroner, Jaci Donath. Tammy Powers received serious injuries from the collision and she was transported to Research Main Hospital for medical treatment. David Phoenix did not report to have any injuries and did not seek medical attention.

Charles' 2002 Harley Davidson and Tammy's 1999 Suburban received total damages and both were towed by Johnson's Towing. David's 2008 Dodge sustained moderate damages and was able to be driven from the scene of the crash.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A, Cass County Sheriffs and Fire, Jackson County coroner's office, and MODOT.

Failure to Yield Results in Serious Injuries for Two

In Christian County, two participants in two-vehicle crash are seriously injured.

On February 19, 2012 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Barbara Brownfield, age 69 and of Springfield, Missouri was operating a 2011 Subaru Forester and traveling in the northern direction on US 160. Deborah Anthony, age 61 and of Branson, Missouri was operating a 1997 Saturn and traveling in the westbound direction.

At that said time and place, Barbara was traveling in the northbound direction of US 160 in Highlandville, Missouri. When Deborah was traveling in the westbound direction of US 160, she was attempting to turn onto the highway and failed to yield for northbound traffic and collided with Barbara's vehicle.

Barbara and Deborah both received serious injuries and were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for medical treatment.

Barbara's 2011 and Deborah's 1997 Saturn received total damages and both were towed by Ozark Auto in Highlandville, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop D.

Six Injured in Head-on Collision

In Lawrence County, a three car accident injures six residents of Cassville, Missouri.

On February 18, 2012 at approximately 7:25 p.m., Robert Day, age 56 and of Cassville, was operating 2010 Chrysler and traveling in the eastbound direction. Robert had five other passengers in his car for the duration of the crash; Clifford Butterfield, age 18, Austin Clancy, age 16, Evan Cowfer, age 14, Paula Day, age 57, and Cody Deleplank, age 15. The second vehicle involved in this crash is James Barnes, age 42 and of Springfield, Missouri. James was operating a 2007 Honda Van and was traveling in the eastbound direction of US 60. The third vehicle in this crash is Jessie Kanne, age 24 and of Marionville, Missouri. Jessie was operating a 2000 Chevrolet pick-up and traveling in the westbound direction of US 60.

At that said time and place, Jessie Kanne was traveling westbound along US 60 and while Robert Day was traveling eastbound on the same road. Jessie crossed the center line and collided with Robert's vehicle head-on, and the debris from Robert's vehicle hit James Barnes' vehicle.

Robert Day received serious injuries from the crash. His wife, Paula, sustained minor injuries as well. The four other passengers, Clifford, Austin, Evan, and Cody received moderate injuries due to the collision. All participants in Robert's vehicle were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jesse Kanne and James Barnes reported to be uninjured and did not seek any medical attention.

Robert Day's 2010 Chrysler received total damages and was towed by Wellbaums Wrecker of Monett. James Barnes' 2007 Honda received minor damages and he was able to drive it from the scene of the crash. Jessie Kanne's 2000 Chrysler received total damages and was towed by Hillbilly Towing of Marionville.

This collision crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop D.

Fatality Crash in Driver Side Collision

In Boone County, a man is killed when he failed to yield and drove into the path of another vehicle.

On February 15, 2012 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Marvin Loftis, age 54 and of Hallsville, Missouri was operating a 1996 International 4900 traveling in the southbound direction of US 63. Stanton Garr, age 55 and of Rothville, Missouri was operating a 2004 Ford Ranger traveling in the westbound direction of US 63.

At that said time and place, Stanton was traveling westbound on US 63 southbound at Calvert Hill Road. Stanton failed to yield to southbound traffic and to Marvin's vehicle while he was crossing the southbound lanes of US 63 when he pulled into the path of Marvin. Marvin collided with Stanton in his passenger side of the vehicle.

Stanton Garr was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by medical examiner, Dori Burke. Stanton then was taken to Boone County medical examiner's office. Marvin reported to have minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Boone County hospital.

Stanton's 2004 Ford Ranger received total damages from the crash collision and was taken by I70 Towing. Marvin's 1996 International received moderate damages and was also towed by I70 Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F. This is troop F's 5th fatality for 2012.

Serious Injuries in Head-on Collision Crash

In Stone County, a female is seriously injured on Wednesday morning resulting from a head-on collision crash.

On February 15, 2012 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Andrew Lietzen, age 26 and of Kimberling City, Missouri was operating a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer traveling in the eastbound direction of US 13. Darren Gideon, age 40, and his wife Jennifer, age 36, were operating a 2001 Ford Mustang and traveling in the westbound direction of US 13. Jennifer and Darren are both residents of Lampe, Missouri.

At that said time and place, Darren and Andrew were both driving along US 13, at Missouri 86 in Blue Eye, when Andrew failed to yield. Andrew's vehicle turned in front of Darren's vehicle head-on and collided right on the passenger side where Jennifer was sitting.

Both Darren and Andrew reported to be uninjured and did not seek medical attention. As for Jennifer Gideon, she received serious injuries from the crash collision and was taken by ambulance to Skagg's Hospital in Branson, Missouri.

Darren's 2001 Ford Mustang received total damages from the crash and was towed privately. Andrew's 2009 Mitsubishi also received total damages and his vehicle was towed by Chris' Towing in Lampe.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop D.

One Seriously Injured on Slick and Icy Roadway

In Callaway County, a head-on collision caused by driving on slick and icy roadway and slid into the path of another vehicle.

On February 13, 2012 at approximately 8:09 p.m., Danny Lamons, age 42 and of MoKane, Missouri was operating a 1996 Ford Bronco traveling in the southbound direction of Route C on County Road 455. Ronald Merriman, age 48 and of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveling in the northbound direction on County Road 455.

At that said time and place, Ronald was traveling northbound on route c when he slid on the slick and icy roadway. Ronald crossed the center line and collided with Danny's vehicle head-on, which caused Danny to slide off the left side of the roadway.

Danny reported to have very serious injuries and he was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson City. Ronald did not receive any injuries and did not seek medical attention from the head-on collision.

Danny's 1996 Bronco and Ronald's 2005 Malibu both received minor damages and were towed by Tom and Steve's Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F.

Driver Killed in Head-On Collision on Snow-Covered Highway

When one driver lost control of her vehicle on a snow-covered highway in Lincoln County, she crossed over the center line and crashed into oncoming traffic, which resulted in minor injuries for herself and the death of the victim.

On February 13, 2012 at approximately 8:00 A.M., 44-year-old Amanda Moon from Clarksville, Missouri was operating a 2006 Mazda M3 and traveling northbound on Highway 49 .2 mile north of Westhoff Road in Lincoln County. At said time and place, Tricia Sliger, age 30, from Foley, Missouri was heading northbound in a 1997 Ford Explorer.

The crash occurred when Sliger lost control on the snow-covered highway causing her to cross over the center line and crash into oncoming driver, Moon. Sliger crashed in to the front of Moon's vehicle.

Moon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Lincoln County coroner, Robert Shramek at 8:50 A.M. The next-of-kin was notified, and Moon was transported from the scene of the crash by the Lincoln County coroner to Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, Missouri. Sliger suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Lincoln County Ambulance District to Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, Missouri. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of this crash.

Sliger's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by El Rancho Garage of Troy, Missouri. Moon's vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by El Rancho Garage.

This investigation was led by Trooper C. A. Bowles.

Fatality Accident in Lake St. Louis

In St. Charles County, one fatality occurs when the driver was travelling too fast for the snowy weather conditions and forces each other off the roadway.

On February 13, 2012 at approximately 7:25 a.m., Dennis Cochran, age 57 and of Vincennes, Illinois was operating a 2012 Volvo Conventional Tractor and traveling in the westbound direction. Bertha Washington, age 36 and of Lake St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu and traveling in the westbound direction. Both vehicles were traveling in the westbound direction on Interstate 64 at Lake St. Louis Boulevard.

At that said time and place, Berta was entering I-64 heading westbound at Lake St. Louis Boulevard as Dennis was in the first lane of I-64. Berta was travelling too fast for the crucial weather conditions as she slid in front of Dennis' vehicle causing him to strike the rear of Bertha's vehicle and forcing him off the left side of the roadway, striking the guardrail and colliding with a bridge pillar. Bertha travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Dennis Cochran was pronounced dead by EMS on the scene of the crash. Dennis was transported to St. Louis County morgue by the medical examiner. Bertha reported to be uninjured and did not seek any medical attention.

Dennis' 2012 Volvo received total damages and was towed by Skyline Towing. Bertha's 2001 Malibu also received total damages from the crash and was towed by Crash City.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C.

Two-vehicle Crash Resulting in Moderate Injuries for Two

In St. Louis County, two vehicles were traveling along on Interstate 270 when one vehicle collided into the other and forcing each other off the roadway.

On February 9, 2012 at approximately 7:25 p.m., Rodrick Alexander, age 30, was operating a 2007 Freightliner and traveling in the westbound direction of I-270. Latonya Tillman, age 36, and her passenger Raven, age 33, was operating a 2004 Honda Accord and traveling in the westbound direction of I-270. All participants in this auto-crash are residents of St. Louis County.

At that said time and place, Latonya was traveling in lane 2 and Rodrick was traveling in lane 1 heading westbound on I-270. Latonya was inattentive and improperly changed lanes when her vehicle's left side collided with Rodrick's right side resulting in both vehicles to travel off the right side of the road. From the collision, Latonya's vehicle struck the guard rail twice.

Latonya and Raven both received moderate injuries from the crash and was transported to DePaul Hospital by Christian Ambulance. Rodrick Alexander did not receive any injuries and did not seek medical attention.

Rodrick's 2007 Freightliner received minor damages from the collision and his vehicle was capable to be driven from the scene of the crash. Latonya's 2004 Honda Accord received total damages and was towed by Bolin's Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C.

Improper Driving Results in Four Person Injury Crash

In Cole County, the driver was operating his vehicle in the improper lane and while the oncoming traffic tried to avoid collision a crash resulted with four people injured.

On February 9, 2012 at approximately 12:00 p.m., James McDowell, age 61, and his wife Betty, age 59, were operating a 2010 Nissan and traveling in the eastbound direction of US 54. James and his wife are residents of Eldon, Missouri. William Griffy, age 88, and his wife, Myrtle, were operating a 2001 Mercury and traveling in the westbound direction of US 54. William and his wife are both residents of Lake Ozark, Missouri.

At that said time and place, Griffy was traveling westbound on US 54, 3.2 miles west of Old Ridge Road, in the passing lane of the eastbound lanes. McDowell was currently driving in the eastbound direction on US 54 in the passing lane as well. As both vehicles were approaching each other, McDowell reacting towards the oncoming vehicle in his lane he swerved to avoid collision. Griffy's vehicle swerved to the right and both vehicles side swiped.

James and his wife Betty both received moderate injuries from the collision and was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital. William and his wife Myrtle both sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital as well.

James' 2010 Nissan received extensive damages resulting from the crash and William's 2001 Mercury received moderate damages. Both vehicles were towed by Tow Pro in Holts Summit, Missouri.

This crash collision was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F.

Three Injuries, Two Cars, One Semi, and an Interstate Highway Crash

When a semi-truck driver crashed into the side of a vehicle in another lane, the victim crashed into another driver, and both victims suffered moderate injuries as a result in St. Louis County.

On February 7, 2012 at approximately 10:34 A.M., 53-year-old Douglas Diffey from Arnold, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford Mustang and traveling north on 1-270 .2 miles north of MO 30. Diffey had one passenger, Gregory Kellison, age 60, from Imperial, Missouri. At said time and place, Rick Davies, age 50, from Wamego, Kansas was traveling north in a 2001 Freightliner Semi-Truck. Also at said time and place, Traci Williams, age 40, was traveling north in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The crash occurred when Davies made an improper lane change and crashed into the left side of Williams' car. Williams then swerved to the right and crashed into the rear of Diffey's car. Diffey spun counter clockwise and crashed into the right side of Davies' semi-truck. Williams' and Diffey's cars continued travelling off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a rock bluff before coming to a rest.

Diffey suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Fenton EMS to Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer, Missouri. Kellison, Diffey's passenger, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Fenton EMS to Mercy Hospital. Williams suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Mehlville Fire and EMS to St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Davies did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Diffey's Mustang received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Miner's Towing of Fenton, Missouri. Davies' semi-truck received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Williams' Impala received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Miner's Towing.

This investigation was led by Trooper A. J. Michels.

Teen Fatality in St. Clair Crash

In St. Clair County, a teenager dies after the driver lost control of his vehicle and overturned into a creek.

On February 7, 2012 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Brant Boultinghouse, age 16, was operating a 1990 Ford truck traveling in the southern direction on County Road 125. Tanner Barger, age 15, was Brant's passenger in the vehicle. Both boys involved in the crash are residents of Eldorado Springs, Missouri.

At that said time and place, Brant was traveling south down County Road 125, three miles north of Eldorado Springs, along a gravel roadway. Brant then lost control of his vehicle on the gravel roadway and ran off the right side of the road, overturning into a creek.

Dr. Kenneth H. Dugan pronounced Tanner Barger dead at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital. Driver, Brant Boultinghouse, was transported to Cedar County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

As required by law, the surviving driver was to be tested for alcohol.

Brant's 1990 Ford truck received total damages and was towed by C & H Wrecker in Collins, Missouri.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Corporal W. Mitch Bush of troop D. This is troop D's 8th fatality for the year 2012.

Missouri Pedestrian Hit by Two Cars on US 63

When a pedestrian was attempting to cross US 63 after being involved in an earlier crash, he was hit by two drivers and suffered serious injuries as a result in Boone County.

On February 6, 2012 at approximately 6:00 P.M., 63-year-old Gregg Crane from Columbia, Missouri was heading southbound on US 63 at Liberty Lane in a 1996 Buick. At said time and place, Leta Bax, age 48, from Hartsburg, Missouri was operating a 2004 Chevrolet and heading southbound. Also at this time and place, Richard McNeil, age 45, from Eldon, Missouri was walking across US 63 after being involved in an earlier crash.

The crash occurred when McNeil, the pedestrian, was crashed into first by Bax and and then Crane, who were driving south on US 63, as McNeil was attempting to cross the highway.

McNeil suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri by Staff for Life. Crane and Bax did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Bax's Chevrolet, the first car to crash into the pedestrian, received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Crane's Buick did not receive damage as a result of this crash and was driven from the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash.

This crash was investigated by Sergeant M. J. Broniec. This investigation was assisted by Corporal R. D. Kyle, Trooper J. A. Cluber, Ashland Police Department and Missouri Department of Transportation.

Pedestrian is Struck by Moving Vehicle

In Pemiscot County, a pedestrian is hospitalized with serious injuries after she was struck by a moving vehicle.

On February 5, 2012 at approximately 12:22 a.m., William Watkins, age 34 and of Caruthersville, Missouri was operating a 2008 JGMC Sierra while traveling in the northbound direction on 16th and Carol Street in Caruthersville. Krissie Payne, age 40 and of Caruthersville, Missouri is a pedestrian whom was walking around Carol Street.

At that said time and place, William was traveling northbound along Carol Street when he was approaching 16th Street Avenue and struck the pedestrian, Krissie Payne. A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states that Krissie was attempting to stop the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Krissie Payne sustained serious injuries and was taken by medical evacuation team to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tennessee where she would be treated for her critical medical conditions. William reported to be uninjured and did not seek any medical attention.

William's 2008 JGMC Sierra received minor damages from the collision and was towed by Jerry's Body Shop.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of trooper J. Vanmeter of troop E.

Teen Fatality in Head-on Collision

In Greene County, a teenager is killed after he crosses the center line and collides with another vehicle head-on.

On February 4, 2012 at approximately 1:58 p.m., Carlos Lopez, age 16, and his 44 year-old passenger, Darla Goetz, were operating a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire and traveling in the southbound direction of MO 123. Jason Whisler, age 24, and his passenger, 22 year-old Sabrina Whisler, were operating a 1996 Dodge Pickup and traveling in the northbound direction of MO 123. All participants in this fatality crash are Walnut Grove residents.

At that said time and place, Carlos was traveling southbound on MO 123, a half mile north of Willard, Missouri as Jason was traveling in the northbound direction on that same road. Carlos then crossed over the center line and struck head-on with Jason Whisler's vehicle in the collision.

Carlos Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Greene County medical examiner, David Brown. Carlos was then taken to the mortuary of Springfield, Missouri. Lopez's passenger, Darla, received serious injuries from the collision and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The other vehicle's participants, Jason, received minor injuries and Sabrina, received moderate injuries as they were both transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Carlos' 1999 Pontiac Sunfire received total damages from the crash and the vehicle was taken by EZ Towing of Willard. Jason's Dodge Pick-up received extensive damages from the collision and was also taken by EZ Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Corporal D. Walters of troop D. This is troop D's 7th fatality for 2012.

Failure to Stop Results in One Fatality

In Clinton County, a man of Lawson, Missouri is killed as he failed to stop for the stop sign and entered the roadway where another vehicle collided with his passenger side.

On January 31, 2012 at approximately 8:40 p.m., John Dolt, age 64 and of Lawson, Missouri was operating a 1995 Ford Ranger traveling in the eastbound direction of US 69. The other vehicle involved in this fatality crash is Michael King, age 54 of Lathrop, Missouri. King was operating a 2004 Kenworth and was traveling in the northbound direction of US 69.

At that said time and place, John was traveling eastbound on US 69 at route PP, 3 miles north of Lawson, when he failed to stop at the stop sign. King was traveling northbound on US 69 when John ran through the sign and approached the roadway. The front of John's vehicle was struck by the driver's side of King's vehicle. Then John's vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane of US 69, north of the impact area. King's vehicle ran off the west side of the road and overturned, coming to a rest on its left side facing east.

John Dolt was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by coroner, Kathleen Little. John was transported by the First Call Morgue of Kansas City, to their business located in Kansas City, Kansas. Michael King reported to be uninjured and did not seek medical attention.

John's 1995 Ford Ranger sustained total damages from the collision. King's 2004 Kenworth received extensive damages and both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash by Sam's Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Crash Team member, Sergeant G.Q. Billings, and the Lawson Fire and Rescue Team.

Injuries in Jackson County Patrol Car Accident

When one driver failed to yield before pulling out from Buckner Tarsney Road in Oak Grove, Missouri, he crashed into a patrol car and caused serious injuries for himself and moderate injuries for the officer.

On February 1, 2012 at approximately 12:21 P.M., 35-year-old James Adkins from Lee's Summit, Missouri was heading westbound in a 2009 Ford Patrol Car on US Highway 50 at Buckner Tarsney Road in Oak Grove, Missouri. At said time, James Haugh, age 82, from Kansas City, Missouri was heading southbound on Buckner Tarsney Road in a 1994 Honda.

The crash occurred when Haugh failed to yield on Buckner Tarsney Road and was crashed into by Adkins on US Highway 50. Adkins was self-insured, and Haugh had American Family Insurance at the time of this crash.

Adkins suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri. Haugh suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash.

Adkins's patrol car received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Jackson County Tow. The estimated repair cost amounts to $10,000. Haugh's Honda received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Jackson County Tow.

This investigation continues and was led and assisted by Lone Jack Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff Deputies.

Clinton County Crash Causes Moderate Injuries for Two Missouri Residents

When one driver was crossing Missouri Route 116 on US Highway 69, she crashed into another driver, and both drivers suffered moderate injuries as a result in Clinton County.

On February 1, 2012 at approximately 1:12 P.M., 63-year-old Carolyn Jennings from Winston, Missouri was heading northbound on US 69 in a 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer. At said time and place, Gerald Snodgrass, age 70, from Lathrop, Missouri was heading westbound on Missouri 116 in a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country.

The crash occurred when Jennings was crossing Missouri 116 and crashed into Snodgrass, who braked, swerved to try to avoid the crash. Both cars spun and crashed into each other again coming to rest northwest of the intersection just off the roadway.

Jennings suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by TRI County Ambulance to Liberty Hospital. Snodgrass suffered moderate injuries and was transported by TRI Ambulance to Liberty Hospital.

Jennings's Chevrolet received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Sam's Body Glass and Auto Repair of Lathrop, Missouri. Snodgrass's Chrysler received extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Sam's Body Glass and Auto Repair.

This investigation was led by Trooper T. N. Garton and assisted by Corporal M. K. Allen, Trooper J. M. Cross, Trooper S. J. Cool and Clinton County Sheriff's Department.

Parked Car with Three Small Children Crashes into Pedestrian, Car and House

When one driver parked his/her car with three small children inside and left the scene, it crashed into a pedestrian, another car, and a house in Princeton, Missouri.

On February 1, 2012 at approximately 5:20 P.M., an unknown driver had parked his/her 1999 Ford Expedition facing east in an alley off Truax Street in Princeton, Missouri and left the scene with three small children in the back seat. Shortly thereafter at said place, 56-year-old Linda Bibby from Princeton, Missouri was walking behind the parked car.

The crash occurred when the parked car, which had been turned off, rolled backwards and crashed into the pedestrian, who fell backwards and struck her head on the gravel surface. The car then crashed into a second car, a 2004 Dodge intrepid, and a house. The car came to rest facing east against the house.

The pedestrian victim, Bibby, suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri and then transported by Lifeflight Eagle to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. The three children were not injured as a result of this crash.

The rolling car received moderate damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. The car that was crashed into received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Both drivers had driver insurance, and their names are unknown.
