Macon County man was killed after a farm tractor pulled into his vehicles path and the two collided.
On February 16, 2011 at approximately 3:55pm, 24 year old Bobby Techau of Callao, Missouri, was operating a 1998 Ford traveling northbound on MO 3 about two miles north of Callao. At that said time and place, 63 year old Benjamin Coleman was operating a 1985 Ford Farm Tractor traveling southbound on MO 3. Coleman then attempted to make a left turn across MO 3 and drove his tractor directly into the path of Bobby Techau.
Techau was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Samaritan Memorial Hospital and was then flown to University Hospital in Columbia by Air Ambulance where he later died.
Tecahu’s vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by Ricks Wrecker Bevier. The driver of the tractor, Benjamin Coleman, was not injured. The tractor he was operating received only minor damage and was left at the scene of the crash on private property.
