Boone County Crash Results in Serious Injury for Two Drivers

Columbus, Ohio man loses control of his vehicle causing him to cross the median and strike another vehicle head on.

On March 7, 2011 at approximately 7:50pm, 52 year old Abdi Farah of Columbus, Ohio was traveling eastbound on I-70 at mile marker 117. At that same time and place, 61 year old Vander Coltrane of Columbia, Missouri was traveling westbound on I-70. Farah then lost control of his vehicle, traveled into the median and struck the median cable. Farah then crossed the median, traveling into the westbound lanes of I-70 where he struck Coltrane head on.

Vander Coltrane was transported by EMS to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. The at-fault driver, Abdi Farah, was transported by Staff for Life to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

Abdi Farah’s vehicle overturned and sustained total damage. Vander Coltrane’s vehicle also sustained total damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Carl’s Towing. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices.
