Missouri Motorcyclist Injured in Clinton County Crash

US Highway 169 crash sends one motorcyclist to area hospital with moderate injuries.

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 7:05 p.m., 59 year old Monte Yager of Gower, Missouri was operating a 1998 Harley Davidson traveling southbound on US 169, approaching the Route VV intersection, about 1 mile north of Gower. At that said time and place, 16 year old Skyler Trail of Faucett, Missouri was operating a 1994 Honda Civic, traveling northbound on US 169.

At that time, Trail attempted to make a left turn onto a country road and turned into the path of Yager. Yager’s motorcycle then struck the back right corner of Trail’s vehicle and came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.

Motorcyclist Monte Yager was transported from the scene of the crash by Tri County Ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital with moderate injuries. The at-fault driver, Skyler Trail, was uninjured in the crash. Both vehicles involved in the crash received minor damage and were driven from the scene of the crash. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for the vehicles involved in the crash.

Both individuals involved in this crash were wearing their safety devices. This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. JH Thompson and was assisted by Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Gower Police Department and Gower Fire Department.
