In St. Charles, the head-on collision of the two vehicles on Missouri Route 94 is due to the at-fault driver’s failure to signal.

On September 12, 2011 at approximately 11:50 a.m., 35 year old Eric Bacon, from St. Charles was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and was traveling in the eastbound direction. The at-fault driver, 72 year old Robert Dunlap, also from St. Charles was operating a 1995 Ford Mustang. Dunlap was traveling in the westbound direction.

At that said time and place, Dunlap was traveling east on Missouri Route 94 attempting to turn left onto Robertridge Drive. Dunlap failed to stop for a steady red electric signal as he was turning left onto the westbound traffic, which is the direction of where Eric Bacon was traveling. The front of Bacon’s Suburban struck the front left side of Dunlap’s Mustang causing a serious head-on collision.

From this crash, the at-fault diver Dunlap and the victim Eric Bacon, both sustained only moderate injuries. Both were taken by St. Charles County ambulance to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. And both, Dunlap and Bacon were wearing safety devices during this auto-crash.

Dunlap’s 1995 Ford Mustang received total damages while Eric Bacon’s 2003 Chevrolet Suburban suffered extensive damages. Both were towed by A-1 Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by Trooper A. Lindgren #665 of Troop C.
