Miller County Head-on Crash Involving Three Missouri Drivers Results in Injury

Miller County crash on MO 17 involving three vehicles results in injury for two Missourians.

On September 3, 2011 at approximately 5:11 p.m., 70 year old Donald Robinett of Henley, Missouri was operating a 1996 Chevrolet traveling northbound on MO 17, just north of Pear Road. At that said time and place, 74 year old Glenn Pound of Eugene, Missouri was also traveling northbound on MO 17, operating a 2011 Honda. The third vehicle, a 2001 Honda Accord operated by 53 year old Beth Ashworth of Columbia, Missouri, was traveling southbound on MO 17 at that time and place.

At that time, southbound driver Beth Ashworth crossed the center line of MO 17 and struck the two northbound vehicles, driven by Donald Robinett and Glenn Pound. Donald Robinett’s vehicle was occupied by himself and passenger, 67 year old Mary Robinett of Henley, Missouri, at the time of the crash.

Donald and Mary Robinett were transported from the scene of the crash by Miller County EMS to St. Mary’s Hospital with moderate injuries. No injury information was provided for the other driver whose vehicle was struck, Glenn Pound. No injury information was provided for the at-fault driver, Beth Ashworth.

Both Robinett and Pound possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash; however, the at-fault driver, Ashworth, did not possess vehicular insurance coverage at the time of the crash. All parties involved in this crash were wearing their safety devices.

The Robinett vehicle received moderate damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Prater’s Towing. Pound’s vehicle also received moderate damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Denny Bax Towing, Mary’s Home. The at-fault vehicle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Prater’s Towing of Eldon.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. Mistler of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper N. Atkinson, also of Troop F.
