When one driver failed to yield at the Route J and Route W intersection, a crash resulted in moderate injuries for both drivers who were immediately transported to the hospital by an ambulance from the scene of the crash.
On September 26, 2011 at approximately 10:06 pm, 56-year-old, David Simpson from Monroe City, Missouri was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado and heading northbound on Route J. At the same time and place, 66-year-old, Elizabeth Jacobs from New London, Missouri was heading eastbound on Route J in a 1996 Plymouth Voyager. Neither of the drivers had passengers.
The crash occurred when Jacobs failed to yield. Jacobs struck the side of Simpson’s vehicle. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Simpson had Farm Bureau Insurance and Jacobs had American Family Insurance at the time of the crash.
Simpson suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Hannibal Regional Hospital by the Monroe City Ambulance. Jacobs also suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the Hannibal Regional Hospital by the Monroe City Ambulance.
Simpson’s Chevrolet received total damage and was towed by JC Automotive Repair from Monroe City, Missouri. Jacobs Plymouth Voyager received total damage as well and was towed by JC Automotive Repair.
This crash was assisted by the Monroe City Ambulance, Monroe City Fire Department and the Ralls County Sheriff Department.
