Car Strikes Pedestrian and is Seriously Injured

In Johnson County, a man unknowingly hits one Warrensburg resident with his car and suffers from serious injuries.

On September 2, 2011 at approximately 7:20 p.m., 27 year old Brian Wood from the Whiteman Air Force Base was operating a 2003 Pontiac traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri Business Route 13, only 347 feet north of SE 125 Road.

That same time and place, the Missouri State Highway Patrol states that Brian Wood struck something that broke his windshield. Mr. Wood contacted law enforcement, but was not certain of what he had struck. Upon investigation at the scene, it was determined that Brian Woods had struck 22-year-old Warrensburg resident Jisun Jang. Jisun Jang was walking on Missouri Business Route 13 when he was struck by Mr. Wood’s vehicle.

Jisan Jung was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for medical attention. Jang suffered from serious injuries. In this crash, Brian Woods was not injured.

Brian Wood’s 2003 Pontiac received minor damages, only his windshield was shattered from the result of the crash. Wood’s vehicle was towed by B & L towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A. C. The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.
