Crash Leaves Missouri Resident Injured from Overturned Car

When one driver attempted to change lanes, he crashed into another driver, and the victim’s vehicle over-turned and crashed into a guardrail in Jasper County.

On December 19, 2011 at approximately 6:30 A.M., 40-year-old Tammy Mood of Joplin, Missouri was operating a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica and heading northbound on US 71 five miles north of Carthage. At said time and place, John McBride, age 51, from Carthage, Missouri was also heading northbound.

The crash occurred as McBride attempted to merge into the right lane from the left lane crashing into Moody. Moody then slid off the left side of the road, over-turned and crashed into a guardrail. McBride was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if Moody was wearing her seatbelt at this time.

Moody suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. The at-fault driver, McBroom, did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Moody’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Chuck’s Towing of Joplin, Missouri. Moody had Rio National Auto Insurance at this time. McBride’s vehicle, a 2009 International TTL, received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. McBride had Old Republic Auto Insurance at this time.

This investigation was led by Sergeant Dennis Kuechler of Troop D in Jasper County.
