On December 10, 2011 at approximately 5:36 p.m., 67 year old Donna Lamkins of Phillipsburg, Missouri was operating a 2002 Buick Century traveling southbound on Nelly Drive, about 3.5 miles east of Phillipsburg. Lamkins did not have any passengers in her vehicle.
At that said time and place, 21 year old Jeremy Spradling of Conway, Missouri was operating a 2003 Ford F150 traveling northbound on Nelly Drive. Spradling then lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line and struck Lamkins. Spradling’s vehicle then overturned.
Donna Lamkins was pronounced dead at 6:55 by Deputy Coroner Mike Noyes and was transported from the scene of the crash to Colonial Funeral Chapel by Colonial. No injury information was listed for the at-fault driver, Jeremy Spradling, who was not wearing his safety device at the time of the crash. The decedent was wearing her safety device at the time of the crash.
Both vehicles sustained total damage in the crash. Lamkins’ vehicle was towed from the scene by C&S Towing. The at-fault vehicle was towed from the scene of the crash by Steve’s Towing. Both drivers involved possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.
This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Jason Gendenning of Troop I. This was Troop I’s 37th fatality for the year 2011.
