Two-Vehicle Crash that Involves Cable Barrier Damage and Ejection of Driver

In Stoddord County, driver struck another vehicle in the rear as it ran off the roadway, ejecting driver, and the vehicle then struck the cable barrier damaging poles and cables.

On December 1, 2011 at approximately 5:49 p.m., Dustin Teague, age 18 and a resident of Popular Bluff, Missouri was operating a 2003 GMC Pick-up traveling in the eastbound direction of US 60. Gary Quinton, age 39 and also a resident of Popular Bluff, Missouri was operating a 1990 GMC truck traveling in the eastbound direction of US 60.

At that said time and place, Dustin was traveling eastbound on US 60 about three miles away from Dudley, Missouri as Gary was doing the same. Dustin then struck the rear of Gary’s vehicle forcing him off the right side of the roadway and ejecting Gary while his vehicle struck a cable barrier.

Gary’s vehicle caused damage to state property as the cable barrier poles and cables were damaged.

Gary Quinton was the only one who received medical attention due to his moderate injuries from the crash. Gary was taken by ambulance to the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri.

Dustin’s 2003 GMC pick-up received moderate damages. Dustin was able to drive his vehicle from the scene of the crash. Gary’s 1990 GMC truck received extensive damages from the crash and was towed by Swank’s Towing.

Both participants of this crash were not wearing any safety devices.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of Trooper, T. D. Templemire of Troop E.
