Three Injuries, Two Cars, One Semi, and an Interstate Highway Crash

When a semi-truck driver crashed into the side of a vehicle in another lane, the victim crashed into another driver, and both victims suffered moderate injuries as a result in St. Louis County.

On February 7, 2012 at approximately 10:34 A.M., 53-year-old Douglas Diffey from Arnold, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford Mustang and traveling north on 1-270 .2 miles north of MO 30. Diffey had one passenger, Gregory Kellison, age 60, from Imperial, Missouri. At said time and place, Rick Davies, age 50, from Wamego, Kansas was traveling north in a 2001 Freightliner Semi-Truck. Also at said time and place, Traci Williams, age 40, was traveling north in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The crash occurred when Davies made an improper lane change and crashed into the left side of Williams’ car. Williams then swerved to the right and crashed into the rear of Diffey’s car. Diffey spun counter clockwise and crashed into the right side of Davies’ semi-truck. Williams’ and Diffey’s cars continued travelling off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a rock bluff before coming to a rest.

Diffey suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Fenton EMS to Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer, Missouri. Kellison, Diffey’s passenger, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Fenton EMS to Mercy Hospital. Williams suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Mehlville Fire and EMS to St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Davies did not suffer injuries as a result of this crash.

Diffey’s Mustang received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Miner’s Towing of Fenton, Missouri. Davies’ semi-truck received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Williams’ Impala received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Miner’s Towing.
