Motorcycle Crash Results in Serious Injuries for Two

When a motorcycle driver failed to negotiate a curve, his motorcycle crashed, overturned , and ejected both occupants causing serious injuries.

On March 24, 2012 at approximately 2:00 P.M., 49-year-old Charles Cupp from Bernie, Missouri was heading east on Route Z 3 miles east of Bernie on a 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle. Cupp had one passenger – Charmane Reyes, age 47, from Bernie, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Cupp failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway. The motorcycle overturned and both occupants were ejected.

Cupp suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Air Evac to a medical clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. Reyes suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Cupp’s motorcycle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Tillman’s Wrecker of Bernie, Missouri.

This crash was investigated by Corporal R D Owens of Troop E in Stoddard County.
