Teen Seriously Injured in Dirt Bike Crash

In Harrison County, a 14 year-old riding a dirt bike was seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon after a head-on collision with a truck.

On April 24, 2012 at approximately 5:23 p.m., Alexander Fordyce, age 14 and of Blythedale, Missouri was operating a 2001 Honda CR-250 motorcycle and traveling in the northbound direction on 7th street. Levi Willis, age 18 and of Blythedale, Missouri was operating a 1988 Chevrolet pick-up truck and traveling in the southbound direction on 7th street.

At that said time and place, Levi was traveling southbound and Alexander was traveling northbound on Oak and 7th street. The crash occurred as the two vehicles were approaching and collided head-on just south of the intersection with Oak Street. Both vehicles came to a rest in the roadway, but Alexander was ejected and thrown onto the road.

Alexander suffered serious injuries from the crash collision and was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Alexander was able to walk off the roadway before the emergency personnel arrived and Levi Willis was uninjured.

Alexander’s 2001 Honda motorcycle received extensive damages from the collision and was towed by Young’s Tow of Eagleville. Levi’s 1988 Chevrolet pick-up received minor damages and was driven from the scene of the crash by Levi.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop H, Harrison County Sheriff Department, North Harrison Fire Department, and NTA ambulance.
