Two Missouri Residents Injured in Washington County Crash

When one driver pulled into the path of a northbound vehicle on Highway 47 in Washington County, moderate to serious injuries were incurred by both the victim and at-fault driver as a result.

On April 21, 2012 at approximately 1:30 P.M., 49-year-old Scott Elliott from Richwoods, Missouri was heading north on Highway 47 at Route A in Washington County and was operating a 1999 Dodge Neon. At said time and place, Martha Kellogg, age 59, from De Soto, Missouri was heading west in a 1997 Buick.

The crash occurred when Kellogg pulled into the path of Elliott. Elliott was not wearing a seat belt at the time of this crash. Kellogg was wearing a seat belt at this time.

Victim driver Elliott suffered serious injuries as a result of this crash. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri by Arch Helicopter Service. Kellogg suffered moderate injuries and was taken from the scene of the crash to Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri by Washington County Ambulance.

Elliott’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Elliott’s Towing of Macomb, Missouri. Kellogg’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Elliott’s Towing.

This investigation was led by Trooper J. R. Wheetley of Troop C in Washington County.
