In Callaway County, one vehicle lost control and caused a three-vehicle collision on I-70.
On June 15, 2012 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Erika Warhol, age 22 and of O’Fallon, Missouri was operating a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix and traveling in the eastbound direction. Nathan Mann, age 20 and of O’Fallon, Missouri was Erika’s passenger at the time of the crash. The second vehicle involved in this crash is Ronald Hoke, age 51 and of Higginsville, Missouri as he was operating a 2003 Freightliner and traveling in the westbound direction. And the third vehicle involved in the crash is Deborah Beardall, age 37 and of St. Peters, Missouri as she was operating a 2008 Honda Odyssey and traveling in the westbound direction.
At that said time and place, all vehicles were traveling on I-70 and Erika was traveling eastbound when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle, traveled into the median, and struck the cable barriers. Erika continued into the westbound lanes of traffic and collided with Ronald Hoke’s and Deborah Beardall’s vehicles. Due to the impact of the collision, Erika’s vehicle came to a final rest on its top.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ronald Hoke and Deborah Beardall were uninjured and did not seek medical treatment. Erika Warhol and her passenger, Nathan Mann, suffered moderate injuries from the crash and were transported by ambulance to the University Hospital.
Erika Warhol’s 2003 Grand Prix received total damages from the crash and was towed by Van’s Garage in Kingdom City. Ronald Hoke’s 2003 Freightliner received minor damages and according to the crash report, his vehicle was secure so he was able to drive from the scene of the crash. Deborah Beardall’s 2008 Honda received extensive damages and was towed by Van’s Garage in Kingdom City.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F.
