Two Missouri Residents Injured in Jefferson County Rear End Crash

House Springs, Missouri men seek medical treatment after involvement in rear end collision in Jefferson County.

On June 12, 2012 at approximately 7:31 p.m. 56 year old Becky Cartwright of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 2008 Ford F150 traveling eastbound on Route MM, 0.1 mile west of Hillsboro House Springs Road. At that same time and place 49 year old Steven Lautenbach of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 2004 GMC 3500 traveling eastbound on Route MM. Lautenbach’s vehicle was occupied by himself and one passenger: 31 year old Jeovane Rubio of House Springs, Missouri.

Said vehicles were stopped in traffic on Route MM. A third driver, 52 year old Ricky Jolly of Byrnes Hill, Missouri who was operating a 1985 International Dump Truck, failed to slow in time to avoid the stopped vehicles and struck the rear of Lautenbach’s vehicle. Lutenbach’s vehicle was then pushed into Cartwright’s vehicle.

Driver Steven Lautenbach was taken by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. Lutenbach’s passenger Jeovane Rubio also sustained minor injuries and was taken from the scene of the crash by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment. All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Cartwright’s vehicle sustained moderate damage but was able to be driven from the scene of the crash. Lautenbach’s vehicle sustained moderate damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Hyndrich Brother’s Towing. The at-fault vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. All drivers did possess insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M.R. Ashby of Troop C.
