Family Injured on MO 2 in Cass County

When one driver attempted to make a left hand turn on MO 2 in Cass County, she crashed into another driver causing minor to serious injuries for three occupants of the vehicle.

On July 4, 2012 at approximately 3:00 P.M., 70-year-old Karen Moul from Freeman, Missouri was heading east while operating a 2003 Ford on MO 2 west of Route C in Cass County. At said time and place, Michael Dirlam, age 36, of Drexel, Missouri was heading west in a 1996 Honda. Dirlam had two passengers – Cerinty Dirlam, age 5, of Drexel, Missouri; Cherokee Dirlam, age 14, of Drexel, Missouri.

The crash occurred when Moul attempted to make a left hand turn. Moul traveled into the path of Drexel and a crash resulted.

Moul suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene of the crash. Passenger Cerinty Dirlam suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Belton Regional Hospital. Passenger Cherokee Dirlam suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Belton Regional Hospital. Driver Michael Dirlam suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene of the crash.

Dirlam’s Honda received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Johnson’s Tow of Harrisonville, Missouri.

This crash was investigated by Corporal T. G. Sims of Troop A in Cass County.
