On June 28, 2012 at approximately 5:05 p.m., Tony Francis, age 36 and of Mountain View, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 truck and traveling in the southbound direction. Along in the vehicle with Tony Francis was his wife, Melody (36), and daughter, Piper (10), during the time of the crash. Evan Cochran, age 20 and of Glencoe, Arkansas was operating a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and traveling in the northbound direction. The passengers along in the vehicle with Evan Cochran were Albert Eakin, age 20, and Shane Thornton, age 25.
At that said time and place, Tony Francis was traveling south on route E, one mile south of Moody, Missouri as Evan was traveling on that same road but in the northbound direction. The crash occurred when Tony crossed the center of the roadway and struck Evan’s vehicle head-on. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, smoke was covering the entire roadway at the time of the head-on collision.
Evan Cochran received moderate injuries from the collision and was transported by South Howell County EMS to Ozark’s Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri. Evan Cochran’s passengers, Albert and Shane, both suffered serious injuries and were transported by air evacuation to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Tony Francis received minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas by Fulton County EMS. His wife and daughter, Melody and Piper, both received moderate injuries and were transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center by Fulton County EMS.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop G.
