Serious Injuries Due to Head-on Collision

In Clay County, two vehicles are involved in a head-on collision that seriously injuries the occupants.

On August 1, 2012 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Krissa Marie Wiechmann, age 22 and of Nashville, Tennessee was operating a 2006 Kia Spectra and traveling in the northbound direction. Along in the vehicle with Krissa is passenger, Kayla Wiechmann, age 26 and of Nashville, Tennessee. Rory Liberty, age 33 and of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and traveling in the southbound direction.

At that said time and place, Rory Liberty was traveling southbound on interstate 435 while Krissa Marie Wiechmann was in the northbound direction. The crash occurred when Rory was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic and collided head-on with Krissa Marie’s vehicle.

Krissa Maria Wiechmann received serious injuries and was transported by Pleasant Valley Fire Department to North Kansas City Hospital. Passenger, Kayla Wiechmann, received serious injuries from the head-on collision and was transported by Kansas City Fire Department to Liberty Hospital. Also, Rory Liberty received serious injuries from the collision and was transported by Kansas City Fire Department to Liberty Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all participants involved in this crash were wearing their seat belts during the time of the collision.

Krissa Marie Wiechmann’s 2006 Kia Spectra and Rory Liberty’s 2013 Hyundai Elantra resulted in total damages from the head-on collision and were towed by Precision Collision.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A and the Pleasant Valley Police Department.
