On July 17, 2012 at approximately 11:10 A.M., 49-year-old David Snow from Joplin, Missouri was heading south while operating a 2005 International Semi Tractor Trailer on US 71 four miles west of Barnard in Nodaway County. At said time and place, Edward Lager, age 59, from Barnard, Missouri was heading south in a 4320 John Deere Farm Tractor.
The crash occurred as both vehicles trooped a hill crest. Lager was traveling at a slow speed in his John Deere Tractor while in the driving lane. Snow crashed into the rear of Lager’s tractor. Both vehicles came to rest off of the roadway.
Snow suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Life Net Helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Lager suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by Life Net Helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Snow’s semi truck received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Keizer’s Collision Repair of Maryville, Missouri. Lager’s tractor received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Keizer Towing.
This crash was investigated by Trooper D. R. Reuter and assisted by Corporal S. E. Pritzell, Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department, Nodaway County Ambulance, Maryville Fire and Rescue, Barnard Fire and Rescue, and Life Net Helicopter.
