Bismarck Resident Killed in Head-On Crash

When one driver crossed the center line on Highway NN in St. Francois county, she crashed into oncoming traffic, which killed the victim.

On August 5, 2012 at approximately 12:05 A.M., 58-year-old Wanda Wilson from Bismarck, Missouri was heading west in a 1995 Eagle Summit on Highway NN 1.3 miles east of Indian Creek Road in St. Francois County. At said time and place, Rose Harrington-Wahlers, age 42, from Bismarck, Missouri was heading east while operating a 2006 Pontiac G6.

The crash occurred when Harrington-Wahlers lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway and traveled across the center line. She crashed into Wilson’s vehicle nearly head-on.

Wilson was killed and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Assistant Deputy Coroner Greg Armstrong. Wilson was then transported from the scene of the crash to Mineral Area Hospital Morgue by St. Francois County Ambulance. Harrington-Wahlers suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Mineral Area Hospital by St. Francois County Ambulance.

Wilson’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by K. Buckley Towing of Park Hills, Missouri. Harrington-Wahlers’ Pontiac received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by K. Buckley Towing.

This crash was investigated by Sergeant A. E. Reynolds and assisted by Trooper P. G. Sarakas of Troop C in St. Francois County.
