Blue Springs, Missouri woman is air lifted to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries after a tractor trailer failed to yield.
On August 19, 2012 at approximately 2:15 p.m., 19 year old Britany Sanders of Blue Springs, Missouri was operating a 1995 Buick Regal traveling northbound on MO 13 at Lowry City. At that said time and place, 65 year old William Bell of Dover, Arkansas was operating a 2007 Freightliner traveling eastbound.
Bell then attempted to cross the northbound lanes of MO 13, failing to yield to Sanders. Sanders then struck the trailer of Bell’s semi-truck.
Sanders was taken from the scene of the crash by Air Ambulance to Center Point Hospital in Independence, Missouri for treatment of moderate injuries. The at-fault driver, Bell, was uninjured in the crash. Sanders was not wearing her safety device at the time of the crash; however, at-fault driver Bell was.
Sanders’ vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Bray’s Towing. Bell’s tractor trailer sustained only minor damage and was driven from the scene of the crash. Both drivers did possess insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.
This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Gary W. Riggs of Troop D.
