In Ste. Genevieve County, the driver, passenger, and a pedestrian are all moderately injured after the driver struck a pedestrian when he over corrected for a second time.
On August 12, 2012 at approximately 6:30 a.m. in Ste. Genevieve County, 18-year-old Timothy Barbee from Bloomsdale, Missouri was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer traveling north on US-61, north of Mimosa Road. Patrick Lipp, age 18 of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, was an occupant.
At said time and place, Barbee traveled off the right side of the road. He over corrected, returned to the road, and then, as he over corrected a second time, he crashed into 39-year-old Derek Drury of Bloomsdale, Missouri. Then, after landing on his wheels, Barbee traveled across the roadway and overturned off the left side of the road.
Trooper J. A. Akers of Troop C investigated this crash. Sergeant M. R. Stamps assisted Akers.
