On August 1, 2012 at approximately 12:35 a.m., Oldie Duncan, age 67 and of New London, Missouri was operating a 2003 Volvo and traveling in the eastbound direction. Gregory Carter, age 54 and of St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2013 Mack truck and traveling in the eastbound direction. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the third vehicle involved in this fatality crash is unknown.
At that said time and place, the unknown reported vehicle was stopped in the center lane of highway 370 due to a prior crash and was blocking the center lane of traffic. Oldie Duncan was stopped behind the unknown vehicle when Gregory Carter failed to stop and collided into the rear of Duncan’s vehicle, which pushed Duncan’s vehicle into the rear of the unknown driver.
Gregory Carter was pronounced fatal at the scene of the crash by emergency personnel and was transported to the St. Louis City morgue by Lonning Transport. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Oldie Duncan and the unknown driver were uninjured and did not seek medical treatment.
Gregory Carter’s 2013 Mack truck received total damages from the collision and was taken by Cardinal Towing. Oldie Duncan’s 2003 Volvo received extensive damages and was towed by Cardinal Towing. The unknown vehicle received moderate damages and was towed by Cardinal Towing.
This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C and Crash Team 2.
