Collision with Deer Kills Motorcyclist

In Dent County, a motorcyclist was killed Thursday after his Harley Davidson collided with a deer that was in the roadway.

On September 27, 2012 at approximately 11:45 a.m., Christopher Pollard, age 33 and from Salem, Missouri was operating a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling in the eastbound direction.

At that said time and place, Christopher Pollard was traveling eastbound on U.S. highway H, eight miles west of Salem, Missouri. The collision occurred when Christopher rounded a curve and came upon a deer standing in the middle of the road. Pollard’s motorcycle collided with the deer, sending the motorcycle out of control and ejecting Christopher onto the pavement.

Christopher Pollard was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Dent County coroner, Gina White. Pollard was transported to Wilson Mortuary in Salem, Missouri.

Christopher Pollard’s 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle received moderate damages from the crash and was towed by Whitakers.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop I.
