In Phelps County, a young man dies after losing control of his vehicle on the wet pavement.
On September 7, 2012 at approximately 6:28 p.m., Michael Johnson, age 22 and of Cabool, Missouri was operating a 1999 Oldsmobile and traveling in the northbound direction. Evalena Wyble, age 48 and of Beulah, Missouri was operating a 2006 Ford Explorer and traveling in the southbound direction. Jackie Grimm, age 42 and of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 2006 GMC Bucket Truck and traveling in the northbound direction.
At that said time and place, Michael Johnson and Jackie Grimm were traveling in the northbound direction as Evalena Wyble was traveling in the southbound direction on US highway 63, at Yancy Mills. The crash occurred as Michael Johnson was passing Jackie Grimm’s vehicle and suddenly lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement. Michael Johnson then collided into Evalena’s vehicle, as Evalena then collided with Jackie’s vehicle.
Michael Johnson was pronounced deceased at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri by Dr. Rachel Helle. Evalena Wyble received moderate injuries from the crash and was transported by Phelps County Regional Medical Center. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jackie Grimm was uninjured and did not seek any medical attention.
Michael Johnson’s 1999 Oldsmobile received total damages and was towed by Ron Dishman Towing. Evalena’s 2006 Ford Explorer received total damages and was towed by Lucas Garage. Jackie Grimm’s 2006 GMC truck received moderate damages and was towed by C & C Towing.
