Head-on Collision Results in Serious Injuries

In New Madrid County, a head-on collision seriously injuries three after the driver of one vehicle lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.

On September 14, 2012 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Kyle Wood, age 15 and of Lilbourn, Missouri was operating a 1994 Chevrolet truck and traveling in the northbound direction. Jerome Wood, age 48 and of Lilbourn, Missouri was Kyle’s only passenger during the time of the crash. Zachary Graham, age 16 and of New Madrid, Missouri was operating a 2008 Dodge Ram and traveling in the southbound direction.

At that said time and place, Kyle Woods was traveling in the northbound direction as Zachary Graham was traveling in the southbound direction on county road 624, two miles north of Lilbourn. The head-on collision occurred as Zachary lost control of his vehicle, swerved into oncoming traffic, and then collided head-on with Kyle’s vehicle.

Kyle and Jerome Woods both received serious injuries from the head-on collision. Both Kyle and Jerome were taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Zachary Graham received moderate injuries from the collision and was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

Kyle Wood’s 1994 Chevrolet truck and Zachary Graham’s 2008 Dodge Ram both received total damages and were towed by Curtois Towing.

This crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop E.
