On September 20, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m., June Rowden, age 79 from House Springs, Missouri was operating a 1991 Ford Escort. June Rowden was traveling in the eastbound direction on highway 30 at Cedar Hill Road. The second vehicle involved in the collision was operated by 33 year-old Joshua Mattingly, a resident of Cedar Hill, Missouri. Joshua was operating a 2002 Dodge Stratus and was traveling in the eastbound direction.
The fatality crash occurred as June Rowden and Joshua Mattingly were traveling eastbound on highway 30 at Cedar Hill Road. June attempted to cross the eastbound lanes on the highway and pulled her vehicle into the path of Joshua. The front of Joshua’s vehicle collided with June’s passenger side.
Due to the collision, June Rowden was transported by air evacuation to Mercy Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead by Dr. Troop. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joshua Mattingly was uninjured.
This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C.
