Three-vehicle Collision Seriously Injures Five

In Randolph County, five residents of Moberly, Missouri are seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash.

On October 29, 2012 at approximately 3:45 p.m., William Truesdell, age 60, was operating a 1990 Mazda Protege. William was traveling in the westbound direction on U.S. 63 highway. Thomas Bell, age 50, was operating a 1994 Ford F150. Thomas was traveling in the northbound direction on U.S. 63 highway. Roxanne Bell, age 45, and Robert Copas, age 18, were passengers in Thomas Bell’s vehicle. Matthew Shilling, age 32, was operating a 1999 Dodge Ram. Matthew was traveling in the eastbound direction on U.S. 63 highway.

At that said time and place, all participants involved were traveling on U.S. 63 highway at Clark Road. The crash occurred as Matthew was attempting to cross northbound on 63 highway and collided with northbound vehicle, Thomas Bell. The impact of the crash caused Thomas Bell’s vehicle to collide with William Truesdell’s vehicle, which was stopped westbound waiting to pull onto the highway.

All participants involved in this crash received serious injuries and were transported by Randolph County ambulance to Moberly Regional Medical Center. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, William Truesdell was the only participant wearing a seat belt during the collision.

William Truesdell’s 1990 Mazda Protege and Matthew Shilling’s 1999 Dodge Ram received extensive damages from the collision and were both towed by Cummin’s Towing. Thomas Bell’s 1994 Ford F150 received extensive damages and was towed by Affordable Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop B and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
