Pedestrian Struck By Tractor-Trailer

In Saline County, a pedestrian
is seriously injured after part of a tractor-trailer hit her.

On December 6, 2012 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Matt Dehn, age 31 from Marshall, Missouri was operating a 2001 Western Star tractor-trailer unit. Kaylee Long, age 22 from Marshall, Missouri was walking along Missouri Route 41.

At that said time and place, Matt Dehn was traveling in the northbound direction as Kaylee Long was walking along the road on Missouri Route 41 and .2 of a mile of Darling Street. The collision occurred as part of the load on Matt’s tractor trailer unit hit Kaylee Long as she was walking north on the right side of the roadway.

Kaylee Long received serious injuries and was airlifted to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Matt Dehn’s vehicle was undamaged from the collision.

This pedestrian crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A, Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Saline County EMS, and the Marshall Fire Department.
