In St. Louis County, a man from Hillsdale has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

On August 25, 2012 at about 11:45 p.m., Arron Larron Smith, age 21 from Hillsdale, Missouri was operating a Pontiac Grand Prix. According to charges filed in the St. Louis Circuit Court, Arron Smith was traveling over 55 miles per hour and had a blood alcohol level of 0.169 when he collided with Durand Stewart, age 55 from St. Louis, Missouri.

Durand Stewart was walking in the northbound direction across Natural Bridge Avenue, near Lambdin Avenue, when Arron’s vehicle collided with him.
