Family of Five Injured in Lawrence County Crash

In Lawrence County, a family is injured after the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway.

On December 31, 2012 at approximately 7:45 a.m., Leonard Evans, age 48 from Golden, Missouri was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Venture Van. Inside the vehicle was his family; Shelly (45), Benjerman (26), Leona (15), and Michelle Anderson (27).

At that said date and time, Leonard was traveling in the southbound direction on Highway 97 and 3 miles north of Pierce City. The crash occurred as Leonard lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway and into an embankment.

All the occupants in this crash
were moderately injured and transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all the passengers were wearing their seat belts during the time of the crash.

Leonard’s 2000 Chevrolet Venture Van received extensive damages and was towed by West 60 Auto of Monett.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
