On January 11, 2013 at approximately 6:02 p.m., Erin White, age 41 from Stanberry, Missouri was operating a 2011 Toyota Rav 4. Ura Borntrager, age 48 from Stanberry, Missouri was operating a horse drawn buggy. Ura’s only passenger was Susan Borntrager, age 47.
At that said date and time, Ura Borntrager and Erin White were traveling in the westbound direction on US Highway 169 and one mile north of Stanberry. The collision occurred as Ura Borntrager was traveling in the southbound direction on US Highway 169 and Erin White was traveling southbound on 169. Erin’s vehicle crested a hill and then collided into the rear of Ura Borntrager’s horse drawn buggy. Both Susan and Ura Borntrager were ejected from the horse buggy.
Susan and Ura Borntrager received serious injuries from the collision. Ura and Susan Borntrager were taken to Northwest Medical Center by Grand River ambulance and then Susan was LifeNet transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Erin White received minor injuries and was transported to Northwest Medical Center by Grand River ambulance.
Erin White’s 2011 Toyota Rav 4 received moderate damages and was towed by Raymond Smith and Auto Body. Ura Borntrager’s horse drawn buggy was totally damaged and removed from the scene by a private vehicle.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop H and the Gentry County Sheriff’s Department.
