In Pulaski County, 15-year-old teenager from Sheldon, Missouri failed to operate the vehicle on the roadway, overturning numerous times, and killed an 8-year-old passenger.

On March 9, 2013 at approximately 3:36 p.m., Logan Lamb, age 15 from Sheldon, Missouri was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Venture Van. Inside Logan’s vehicle were 5 other passengers; Tami Smith (34) from Nevada, Justin Wittock (28) from Nevada, Brice Lamb (12) from Sheldon, Hannah Lamb (8) from Sheldon, and Addison Wittock (2) from Nevada.

At that said date and time, Logan was traveling in the eastbound direction on Interstate 44 at the 152 mile marker. The crash occurred as Logan traveled off the roadway to the right, over corrected, then ran off the left side of the roadway, collided with a median, and overturning numerous times.

Hannah Lamb was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Pulaski County coroner, Mikel Hartness. Hannah was transported to Waynesville Memorial Chapel. All participants involved in this crash received moderate injuries and were transported by Pulaski County ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all the passengers, including the driver, were wearing their seat belts during the time of the crash.

Missouri Law requires children ages 8 and older to wear a seat belt. But child safety experts say for some children that may not be enough to prevent injury. The American Academy of Pediatrics says if a child is not at least 80 pounds of 4’9″ tall, they still need a booster seat, no matter their age.

Logan Lamb’s 2003 Chevrolet Venture Van received total damages and was towed by Rothmund Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop I.
