On March 7, 2013 at approximately 3:10 p.m., Jimmy Jacobs, age 47 from New Cambria, Missouri was operating a 2001 Dodge truck. Courtney Thomas, age 17 from New Cambria, Missouri was operating a 1997 Chrysler Concord.
At that said date and time, Courtney Thomas was traveling in the eastbound direction as Jimmy Jacobs was traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri Highway 149 in New Cambria, Missouri. The collision occurred as Country neglected and failed to yield to the right-of-way driver and pulled into the path of Jimmy’s vehicle. Both vehicles collided and came to a rest in the roadway.
Jimmy Jacobs received minor injuries from the crash and is seeking his own medical treatment. Courtney Thomas was seriously injured and was flown by air evacuation squad to the University Hospital in critical condition. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Jimmy nor Courtney was wearing their seat belts during the time of the collision.
Jimmy Jacobs’ 2001 Dodge Truck received moderate damages and was towed by Rick’s Towing from Bevier, Missouri. Courtney Thomas’ 1997 Chrysler Concord received total damages and was removed from the scene by friends of the family.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop B, Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County ambulance, Macon County First Responders, and the New Cambria Fire Department.
