Bates City Woman Seriously Injured in Crash

In Lafayette County, a woman is seriously injured after the at-fault driver attempted to operate a turn and collided into her driver’s side.

On March 18, 2013 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Bonita Anderson, age 57 from Odessa, Missouri was operating a 2007 Honda CRV. Peggy Goza, age 68 from Bates City, Missouri was operating a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamonte.

At that said date and time, Bonita Anderson was traveling in the westbound direction while Peggy Goza was traveling in the eastbound direction on US Highway 40 at McDaniel. The crash occurred as Bonita Anderson attempted to make a left turn when she collided with the front driver side of Peggy’s vehicle.

Peggy Goza was seriously injured and transported by SNI Valley ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center due to the collision. Bonita Anderson received moderate injuries and was transported by Odessa ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bonita Anderson was wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision, however, Peggy Goza was not.

Peggy Goza’s 2003 Mitsubishi Diamonte received extensive damages due to the crash and was towed by Wilkinson’s Tow. Bonita Anderson’s 2007 Honda CRV received extensive damages and was towed by Walker Tire.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bates City Police Department.
