Crash Kills Two Teenagers in Dunklin County

In Dunklin County, two teenagers are killed and one is seriously injured after pulling into the path of another vehicle and crashing.

On March 29, 2013 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Dylan Johnson, age 16 from Holcomb, Missouri was operating a 2004 Nissan X-Terra. Tyler Estes, age 18 from Kennett, Missouri and Tyler Troutt, age 18 from Kennett, Missouri were both passengers in Dylan’s vehicle during the time of the crash. Lee Davis, age 68 from Dyersburg, Tennesse was operating a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

At that said date and time, Dylan Johnson was traveling in the eastbound direction as Lee Davis was traveling in the northbound direction on US 412 at Route P in Senath. The crash occurred as Dylan failed to yield at the intersection and pulled into the path of Lee’s vehicle and collided. Dylan was ejected from the vehicle.

Dylan Johnson and Tyler Troutt were pronounced dead at the scene by Dunklin County coroner, James Powell, and were transported to McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Tyler Estes received serious injuries from the collision and was taken via air evacuation to St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Lee Davis was uninjured in the crash and did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Tyler Estes, Dylan Johnson, and Tyler Troutt were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. But as for Lee Davis, he was reported wearing his seat belt.

Lee Davis’ 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer and Dylan Johnson’s 2004 Nissan X-Terra both received total damages from the crash and was towed by Macmahon’s Wrecker.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop E and Troop E’s major accident reconstruction team. This is Troop E’s 7th and 8th fatalities for 2013.
