Serious Injuries for At-fault Driver

In Dekalb County, the at-fault driver from Cameron, Missouri is seriously injured after his vehicle collides into the side of another vehicle.

On March 4, 2013 at approximately 3:03 p.m., Kyle Hargrave, age 18 from Cameron, Missouri was operating a 2003 Dodge Stratus. Robert Finn, age 68 from Trimont, Minnesota was operating a 2010 Freightliner.

At that said date and time, Kyle Hargrave was traveling in the southbound direction on Route C as Robert Finn was traveling in the eastbound direction on US Highway 36 and one mile west of Cameron. The crash occurred as Kyle Hargrave attempted to cross eastbound lanes on US 36 and collided with the side of Robert Finn’s Freightliner truck. Kyle’s vehicle came to a rest in the passing lane of US 36 facing northwest. Robert Finn came to a controlled stop on the shoulder of eastbound US 36.

Kyle Hargrave received serious injuries from the collision and was taken by Cameron ambulance service to Cameron Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Kyle was then transferred by helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Robert Finn was uninjured in the crash and did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both participants involved in this crash were wearing their seat belts.

Robert Finn’s 2010 Freightliner truck received minor damages and was driven from the scene. Kyle Hargrave’s 2003 Dodge Stratus received total damages and was towed by Scotty’s Carriage Works of Cameron.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop H, Cameron Fire Department, Cameron Ambulance Service, Cameron Police Department, and the Troop A major crash team.
