Car Wreck Seriously Injures Two, Prompting Helicopter Evacuation

Morgan County – Two people are seriously injured when a car crossed the center line causing a head on collision.

On Friday, April 5, 2013, Eric Stringer, age 44, from Gravois Mills was driving a 2000 dodge on Highway 5. Lisa Van Lerberg, age 42, from Shawnee, Kansas was operating a 2007 Chevrolet. Her husband, Andrew Van Lerberg, age 44, was the only passenger inside the vehicle.

Sometime in the afternoon, at that said date, Eric Stringer was traveling in the northbound direction on Highway 5 near Santa Fe Road as Lis Van Lerberg and her husband were traveling in the southbound lane. The crash occured as Eric Stringer crossed the center line and hit the Chevrolet head on.

Eric Stringer was evacuated by a Staff For Life Helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. An ambulance transported Lisa Van Lamberg to Lake Regional Hospital for serious injuries. Andrew Van Lamberg sustained minor injuries.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Eric Stringer the only participant not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Both vehicles were towed by D and R Towing of Versailles after receiving total damages.

This auto crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
