Ashland Teens Injured in Crash

Three teenagers were injured Thursday afternoon after a two-car crash at the intersection of Highway 63 and New Salem Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a pickup truck driven by Richard Heet of Jefferson City hit Colton Snyder’s vehicle on the driver’s side as Snyder was attempting to cross southbound Highway 63. Snyder failed to yield to oncoming traffic when his vehicle was struck by Heet’s pickup truck.

Heet was not injured, but Snyder, age 18, and his passengers 19-year-old-Domenick Taggart and 18-yar-old Valerie Welch sustained moderate to serious injuries. They were taken to University Hospital.
