Tire Blowout Seriously Injuries Two on Motorcycle

In Callaway County, two people on a motorcycle are seriously injured after a tire blowout and causes them to crash.

On June 9, 2013 at approximately 5:55 p.m., Jerry Calvin, age 70 of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2008 Honda motorcycle along with passenger Caroline Butler, age 47 of Columbia, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Jerry Calvin was traveling westbound on I-70 at Auxvasse Creek Bridge. The crash occurred as the tire on Jerry’s motorcycle blew out, causing the motorcycle to overturn and crash. Both the driver and his passenger were ejected.

Jerry Calvin and Caroline Butler received serious injuries from the crash and were transported by ambulance to University Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jerry and Caroline were wearing safety devices.

Jerry’s 2008 Honda motorcycle received moderate damages from the crash and was towed by Van’s Garage.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F.
